Aha, I know where it is, now, can you tell me what does it do?

And how should I adjust it?

It is a valve that sits in the barrel just after the exhaust port, at low revs it is closed making the bike a little more rideable, then at around 7krpm it opens up and you get full powah! (very simplified explanation)

The manual will tell you everything you need to know about adjusting it.

Yep undo the two bolts and remove the cover, then use the adjusting nut on the left hand cable. You HAVE to use the manual to get it properly setup.

I am almost 100% that in the manual does not write anything about setup, what about the picture in first post? This is for NSR as I know

NSR 125 R 99. Been reading some replies from you and I need help. I need to know where the powervalves is/are so I can clean them. Also my Servo, i'm not sure how it works but it's always on Low. When I "Key-on" it twitches but remains on Low. Rev up to 6500 and over it still remains on Low. Is this right?? I need your help.

I believe it could be something to do with the CDI maybe?

Thanks

It IS in the manual, I have adjusted it using that more times than I can remember. Have a search on the forums or google and download it.

First remove the exhaust. Then remove the RC valve cover, cables and the pulley which is held on by a left hand thread nut so turn it the opposite way to undo. Two more bolts to get the plate off the barrel. remove the RC valve dust seal then pull out the spindle. Remove the RC valves from the barrel.

Sounds like you need to adjust the timing of the valves for them to work correctly. If they don't work after that then there could be a loose connection, problem with the power valve actuator or servo.

Thanks a lot Mr. James! I will try it today.

Also, how is the Servo Motor suppose to react? I can't really understand that diagram.

Please let me know. Thanks

What is this on the picture? When I start the bike it moves, and when ~6500 rpm is reached too

Thats the Servo motor my friend, A diagram is at the top of the page. Look closely ad there should be a pointer and High or Low markings. Please tell me when you tun the key. Where is it pointing and does it just twich or move completely? Also when you go above 6500 how does it move and where is it pointing?

This would really help me as mine might be broken. Thanks

Your friend will give you info soon...

So this servo controls the RC valve?
Do I have to setup both or just the servo?

The bike runs properly, but my friend told me that this is like a restrictor, and the bike runs better if this is set properly?!?

Hi

You do not adjust the servo, just the cables that connect the servo to the valve.

It is not a restrictor (although I understand that some French market bikes are restricted by closing the valve at high speed, but you cannot stop this by adjusting it), but needs to be set up to give you full power at high revs (if it does not open fully then you will not get full power, just as if it does not close fully you will loose some power at low revs).

I would not like to try removing the RC valve from the engine with the engine in place. It is fiddling to do with the top of the engine taken off the bike. Not sure that they stick very often anyway.

RAVE is the Aprilia / Rotax power valve system. These are a simple and light system, but are prone to sticking (but can easily be removed and cleaned up with much work compared to the NSR).

All the best

Keith

My nsr refuses to rev above 7500revs in 5th/6th.
I've taken the exhaust off my nsr and this is what I see through its port.
Q#1: is this the way rc valve should sit in there?
Q#2: is it possible to operate it by hand? just to check if it's working properly?
