Hi,
Anyone know if you lose your licence at 12points?
My stepdad has 9 and just got a speeding ticket! Shocked
One of the endorsements runs out in a few months so it aint good timing! Sad
He needs his licence for his job and losing it would be very bad!
Help on this if anyone can!

Hi

12 points is loss of licence (occasionally you get away without a ban, but not often).

Try popping onto https://www.pepipoo.co.uk for possible ways out of it.

All the best

Keith

Cheers,
Yeah checked some stuff on that site.
Seems he could be alright as you get a disqual if you've totted up 12points within 3 years!
Have to see! It's not looking good at all really though!

Yep, 12 points in 3 years. But that is offences leading to 12 points in 3 years.

All the best

nah its not fixed , it depends on your circumstances you get people like this guy in Cornwall who have 38 points or this crap taxi driver from NI who has 12 but both can't be banned.

@12 points you can get insurance but its astronomical
@38 you can't so they guy keeps on driving goes to court gets more points for no insurance and pleads his work requires it.

why cus they make a living from driving and have large families , such that magestrates don't ban them cus if they did they would deprive him of his income and a method to feed his family (the magestrate thinks oh no do we ban him for 12 months and put him and his 12 children on dole and benefits or do we just push the cost of his insurance more and threaten him with loss of licence).

while singletons , and couples without children are banned easily.

Shocked How did you get away with that then??
Did you give mitigating circumstances or summut?
Cant get a ban because that would mean he'd lose his job! Thumbs Down

I am sure I have misunderstood Wink but if are implying that the missus may have been driving at the time of an alleged offence the supervising driver would also have to be named and is equally responsible for the offence.

That would be the way but to do that they would have to take it to court and any fines incured by the court go the the clerk of the justices and not the scamera partnership so they won't bother taking it any further and be happy with there £60. Shocked

It's shocking isn't it. Wink
