Hi
Did it have its valves done at 8000 and 16000 ? This is a must on these as the clearances go tight and that will at some point lead to a burnt valve
Brake fliud should be done every 4 years as it starts to turn acid through water absorsion ( or is that alkalin) and starts rotting seals.

you'll need to replace plugs, check valve clearances, cam chain, fork oil, coolant, brake fluids, air filters etc.

while you're at it, get an arata race system, power commander, velocity stacks, fit the lot and get a custom map. That should give you sommat to do Wink

Its normal around £100 in labour to check the valves and IF they need adjusting your looking at maybe another £200 ish for the extra labour and to change the shims.

Its a tricky job so don,t even try doing it your self scott.

Don,t bother changing the fork oil unless the forks start playing up, and cam chain Confused auto adjusters on modern bikes it not a old superdream with a manual tensioner.

Valves need checking every 16k miles on B1H's, so aslong as it hasnt been thrashed to death for the last 20k miles they're probably ok now, so get them checked.

Valves are easier to check than they are to actually adjust. Get some feeler guages and check them yourself and if they need adjusting get a garage to do it Smile

It's also worth keeping in mind that the major services are the ones people expect to see on the service history come resale time. If it's not done by a dealer then it might not sell so easily.

Dont do it yourself, take it to a proper garage to get sorted out. If you're in the south yorks area i can recommend a place, but unfortunately its a bit make or break on our bikes.

Very Happy

I'd really really advise against it bro. Really!

Somebody in the accounts department made a huge mistake then.
3 days at 8 hours a day, plus parts = £150 ? I don't think so.

well getting the shims wrong means that you either blow yer valves and knacker yer engine, or you lose compression and it'll go like shit.

As for my service, the costs were agreed at £150 prior, except they fucked up my powercommander fitting and so stripped it down to bare nuts and bolts to find out what was wrong.. Should have only took a day.
