You got any?
Since I got out on the 400 (nearly 3 weeks now! ) I realised yesterday I am trying to feather the front brake into corners!
I think this is cos I approached a few too fast when I first went out and had to brake last minute, but it really concerns me that I'm trying to lean/corner with the brakes on, I am now having to say to myself "no brake no brake no brake" in a sort of chant as I approach........
Hopefully I will cure myself of this very quickly (cos I just know if I don't, the first time I do it in the wet I'm going to be off) but I just wondered if anyone else has any bad habits, and what you do to try and break them? ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Only joking. Err....I don't really have any Bad riding habits. Well, I suppose indicating while checking mirrors rather than after checking mirrors. ____________________ If at first you don't succeed.....destroy all evidence that you tried.

If i give it some welly out of a corner in a set of twisties i find myself changing up on exit then having to immediately downshift for the next corner , i should just leave it in the gear i exited in and simply shut the gas off prior to entry to the next.
I always seem to unsettle the bike going into the corner, one day i will really pay the price for this. |

Not /enough/ rear brake?
I've always kinda taken the 'correct' amount of rear brake to be around 0%, unless you're deep in a corner.
Much better to sort out how you try and approach corners on the road, if you need to use the brakes midway, in my opinion.
Stinkwheel:
I did kinda land on my arse while trying to keep a non-powervalved 350 2 stroke level at altitude on a bumpy field, but hitting you in the face is good otherwise - gives you more revs to play with while you're up there! |
