Thanks chaps
Had a nice trip down to Brighton yesterday, even took a pillion - the bike performed surprisingly well. I'd forgotten how quick the thing was - until my hapless passenger claimed that the thing was a little obscene, I was just cruising as well The bottom end and roll on does seem a lot smoother.
I don't think I've had a bike that I'm as satisfied with since my NC30, it's almost like I've got my hands on another 400/4; in the way that the more original it is, the 'better' it seems to be. Everything on the bike just seems 'right' even down to the mahoosive indicators, chunky rubber-booted footrests and fugly black exhaust. I actually like the colour too - I always like white Hondas of any vintage (RC30s, Blades, SP2s) - apart from Pan Europeans with flashing lights of course.
Sorry for the surprise Quacker, I guess you hadn't spotted my previous threads. Basically, I was wondering whether or not to sell the Blade, as, at the time, I didn't ride it enough (I still don't) and wondered why I had the thing; it being couped up in the garage for 75% of its life. After realising that I had the price of a second bike bolted to the bike and that such addons didn't really add as much to the bike for my uses, I decided to part with them.
A 15 year old bike with 40k on the clocks would have shagged suspension. Best possible thing you could do to one is restore/upgrade the shock/forks and add a couple of tyres you're confident with. It seemed logical to keep these installed.
Budget for my next bike stands at £500-£1000, I don't really want to spend too much more than that, in case that bike looses its 'disposable' appeal. I've been considering an unfaired 400, maybe even a Bandit 6, wouldn't mind getting a crosser and supermotoing it up.
Maybe I should start up a part time bike cleaning business to add to the budget
As far as I can tell, the chain's within its tension - I'll check again in a hundred miles or so.
Thanks all |

Don't worry, my idea for this supermoto is as-road-biased-tyres as possible and a loud(ish) exhaust, nothing trick, nothing fancy, otherwise I might as well add a grand onto the budget and go buy a ready made KTM.
Hmm, dug out of the archives, an RRN Fireblade at the Honda Museum. Wish mine was as unmarked.
