Scottoilers are very good if working properly, but just putting the oil on the chain every so often is no good as it is to thin. It is supposed to be contantly feeding the chain.
Any good chain lube/wax is ok, don't think there are many bad ones around nowadays.
You would be better fixing the Scottoiler though. ____________________ Andy Sez....

the lube goes on one side, but due to the thinness of the fluid, the fact that there is a way thru the rollers from one side to the other, and the forces involved (centrifugal and gravity) the oil gets to all parts of the link easily. If you're really bothered, get a dual feed.

because the scottoiler is constantly lubing the chain, rather than periodically, it can extend chain life quite a bit.

i use proffi dry lube from hein gerrike , its a ptfe lube that doesnt attract grit and road shit because as the name suggests its a dry compuond it doesn`t protect against water so if i ride in the rain i always coat the chain in oil after ! ____________________ they say life begins at 40 but i think it begins at 140 !!!!!!!
