Chain lube..?

hey people,

Ive gotta 2001 suzuki bandit with an O-ring chain on it..

at the moment to lube it, im puttin scottoil on it about every 80 miles or so as the scottoiler doesnt work, but ive heard a lot about how bad they are... can anyone recomend a really good lube or wax etc i can use instead, or is scottoil the best??

Scottoilers are very good if working properly, but just putting the oil on the chain every so often is no good as it is to thin. It is supposed to be contantly feeding the chain.

Any good chain lube/wax is ok, don't think there are many bad ones around nowadays.

You would be better fixing the Scottoiler though.

i've only recently got my bike, is motul chain lube any good? as i went out and bought a can of it today. but no actually had to use it yet.

so why isn't your Scottoiler working? had one on my Bandit and it worked a treat, so much easier than lubing after every ride.

im not sure why its working, it just wont push the oil out through the tube properly. it was dodgy when i bort the bike tho, an loads of peoiple say they aint rly any good as they only lube one side. so there all good, none better than others ???thanks for the help guys

I was just putting the lube on the rollers, but was told it's got to go on the actual rubber hoops & where they link? I was using Silikone, it turns white on the chain.

i use proffi dry lube from hein gerrike , its a ptfe lube that doesnt attract grit and road shit because as the name suggests its a dry compuond it doesn`t protect against water so if i ride in the rain i always coat the chain in oil after !

cheers for the help guys,

had it looked at today and been told the pipe is being crushed where it goes along under the swingarm, so all i need to do is that... it still is connected to the carb okay had that checked, so hopefully it`ll be workin again now!!!!
