hi my nsr is playing up again samething happened pissing out coolent out of the expansion tank i put the gasket on yesterday without liquid gasket how you said tighten bolts up opposites but i dont have a torque wrench could doing them too tight casue this?also is the cap on the expansion tank meant to have a hole in the middle cause isnt the cooling system emant to be sealed? the plan is fix it get it running perfect tidy it up and sell it and get a better bike if anyone has any ideas what could be causing this problem all the time that would would be great cheers

could be worth getting hold of a torque wrench - you may be really lucky and not done them up enough!

Most expansion tanks are vented, so don't worry about the hole in the cap (I can only think of a couple of models of cars which have pressurised tanks, no bikes.)

im not lucky at all with this bike Sad just checked them and tehre all tight what could keep causing this to happen? cheers

hi Sad im going to have to take the head and barrel off again skim it order ANOUTHER head gasket and the one that was on i had just fitted on saturday:( i got told that i should heat the head gasket up before fitting it then put the bolts on go for about a 20 min ride then tighten them again if they are looser is this correct? thanks for the help cheers

Skim it (get the top of the barrel checked as well), new gasket, torque wrench, re-check nuts frequently in first few miles.

ok thanks il do all that and hopefully it will work and im going to buy a torque wrench off ebay tonight and it should be here buy thursday thanks for the help Thumbs Up
