 |
|
hi, i think i may have found the problem with my indicators that i spoke about on a different post.
i was looking for the indicator realy box. looking in my haynes manual to locate it. found it on the bike. well, the problem is - ITS NOT THERE. the clips where it is spose to be are there.
so is there a possibility, even if its a slim one. thats the indicator relay box could fall off? sounds stupid as from my haynes manual it looks like the clips are sturdy enough to hold it there. but could anyone get back to me on this quickly.

dont think it could of fallen off since it would have just hung on the wires, its pretty odd may have to get down to a breakers yard to get a new one. ____________________ 2nd time around CBT: 8/9/11

the only loose wires around under the seat are like little plugs, but none of em are right shape to connect into each other. and i think they were disconnected by past owners. ____________________ CBT - Passed - 14/07/2006 Theory - Passed - 19/08/2006 A2 test - Passed -19/07/2007

ok, well i can't see it being the fuse. as the tzr of mine only has one. and would mean all my lights getting knocked out wouldn't it?
edit: to make it easier to describe these plugs i'll take a pic of them tomorrow and post it on here. easier than explaining tbh and giving you the rong details. ____________________ CBT - Passed - 14/07/2006 Theory - Passed - 19/08/2006 A2 test - Passed -19/07/2007

i do, but not on my computer, in the haynes manual it says the relay is under the seat between the oil and the coolant. which is where i found that "L" shaped plug.
but there was another 2 plugs, but they were disconnected when i got the bike a few weeks back when it was running fine. ____________________ CBT - Passed - 14/07/2006 Theory - Passed - 19/08/2006 A2 test - Passed -19/07/2007

That could be it, you do get two terminal flasher relays and the terminals are at right angles to one another.
Does your terminal block look like it would fit on this? (which is a universal 6 volt flasher relay, you would want a 12v one but they look identical)

EDIT. What colour are the wires attached to the terminal block you have? If one is blue and the other grey, it is definately for the flasher relay. If not, it still might be. |

yes, the plug part does have identical placed slots. i have found someone on ebay selling one. i hoping to get it there and fit it myself, as i don't fancy spendin mor money at a garage when i might be able to do it meself.
is there any tips when fitting the relay? as i read somewhere, that by fitting it, i could blow the fuse. not totaly sure if this was for the relay though.

Flasher units tend to be pretty standard things and the two pin ones cost buttons, e.g. this page:
https://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/relays/relays.html#gen443
You might be able to get one from a local electrical motor factors.
Genuine dealer part will cost you more.
Lets face it, if it's missing, that's what is probably causeing the problem!
Expect a garage to charge you 10 mins labour (15 quid) to plug it in for you.
