yes its annoying happens every day without fail, another thing, the usual bay I park in theres just 1 post to chain the bike to. I get there normally just before 7 and its empty, for the last three days, theres a bike there no chain just a disc lock right next to the post. Its just been parked because the exhaust is still warm. Yes ok its first come first served but when theres the whole bay to choose from and you're not going to chain it up then at least let someone else have the use of it ____________________ We're all just born to die. There are just not enough bays in London anymore.
When I started commuting into Leicester Square by scooter in 1998, I could always get a space in the bay bu the National Gallery, right up to 10am. Nowadays if you go in, most bays are full by 9 & it's a struggle to find anywhere.
I once parked in a bay in Dover Street, early for a meeting to find a scooter had jammed himself up to the side of my bike, scratching it in the process. It wasn't too difficult to lift it up, outside of the bay and leave it...no doubt a traffic warden would be along shortly and ticket him - he deserved it.
The obvious solution is to allows bikes to park on yellow lines for free in designated 'bike parking roads', where there is no chance of causing jams. However 'obvious' and 'solution' are words that don't exist in TfL's, Borough of Westminster's or our Government's vocabulary, so it's case of enduring what is an ever worsening situation. ____________________ Using a mobile phone while driving a car should be made a capital offence! |

came back to the bike last night to find some idiot scooter rider had parked so close to my bike it had snapped one of my indicators off (Knew it was him because it was wedged between his bodywork and mine) moved the scooter but will get my revenge when I put one of those helmet cable locks through his wheel (got quite a collection free with various bike mags over the years) and wd his tyres

I believe all NCP car parks have bike bays.
I always use the NCP when I decide to ride in. They have a couple of hundred bays/ground anchors, and usually about 5 bikes.
Cost's £2 per day. Or use an outside bay!?
Kind of a no brainer really!!!

I flip if someone leaves a finger print on my baby, let alone knock my indicator or adjust my mirrors.
Here in South Africa we dont have many bike bays so we just park right on the sidewalks. People dont mind cos everyone enjoys looking at bikes ____________________ 2006 636..... K6 600...... 92 gk76 |
