 |
|
I have been doing some quote for the bike that i collect tomorrow and due to 0NCB, 1 Fault Claim, and 18 isnt making for good quotes.
When i was quoted for the SV TPFT worked out cheaper than TPO but now this isnt the case. My lowest quote:
£1200 TPFT
£654.53 TPO
There is no way I'm going to pay £1200 for insurance, the bike in question had an data tool system 3 alarm and will be fairly secure at home and in a low risk area. I probably couldn't afford to claim if it did get stolen as would make me uninsurable (or at a very high price).
Would you risk it? ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

I pay £8pcm on a 2003 SV. Thats based on a south london address, parked on the street with 6 points. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

TPO for a couple of years shouldn't be too bad because if you think about the amount you're saving, then it's pretty silly. I'm only on TPFT because it was cheaper than TPO in the first year and on my ZX6R, it was only something like a 5 quid difference. TPO is well worth it if you have a rat bike or value it less than 1200 or so where the cost of the excess and claim will have severe implications when you go get your next bike.
Almax chain and 20 quid alarm and cover and chance it ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Sounds like a nightmare andy. I didnt know you were riding again mate, last update I got was that you were off it for a long time??
Are you not fancying an SV again?
MY insurance is similar, messed up through no fault of my own.
Have you tried Express insurance?

Yea i left it and went to uni and was saving money up for when i felt ready for a bike again, i believe that im ready and though a bursery that Bath uni gave me im able to afford it (plus my overdraft)
I knew it was going to be silly quotes but thought the difference between TPO and TPFT would be much smaller.
I dont fancy a SV, TBH i was thinking of upgrading when i had my off (though it would have been an expensive thing to do with uni around the corner). Like i said in your SV thread, the suspension was just horrible and was planing to change the internals of the forks when i had time, as i was using it all the time i never got round to it
MY insurance is similar, messed up through no fault of my own.

No, only tried 4-5 so far as got in 4pm and rang a few, think they were Hastings, Carol Nash, Bennetts, MCD and another. I have a list i will be calling tomorrow though ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

My advice mate, buy a Fast Bikes magazine and call EVERY single insurer in the bleedin' thing. You're bound to get a pretty reasonable rate after that.
But you'll have probably spent that much on telephone bills ____________________ wizzzard wrote: Imagine God just stopping by, tidying your front room up and then quietly letting himself out again. Statisticly more likely to happen than Korn being on here. |

Run a quote through https://www.insurance2000.co.uk/motorcycle/motorcycle.asp
They have a scheme with the NIG which is very competitive and aimed at riders under 25.
But you will probably struggle to get a really cheap quote, at 18 with a fault claim you are a 'moral hazard' and not many insurers will quote at all on that basis
Just go TPO and get a big lock and chain |
