Hi,

When im back from uni i will be fitting my new end can.

My question, do i need any sealing agent when the exhaust goes on to help there be a proper seal or just bolting it on fine?

Its a 3 bolt end can if this helps Thumbs Up

Shouldn't do, I've never had a problem just bolting them straight on.

thanks g Thumbs Up

I just thought since you were bolting to hard materials together the seal isnt going to be as good as if there is a seal in there.

Thanks Thumbs Up

They sometimes have a gasket built onto the end of the pipe, but its not important as even if it does leak it wont be much.

Was there any sort of sealant on it when you fitted it?

Maybe try some gental heat might free it up?

There may be a gasket in the stock can when you take it off, so make sure you put that into the new can, that's about it really.

mines just the standard sip on style cbr exhaust. but it wont slip off lol. ive honesly tried everything. but the cand got a big dent in is, so it might come to breaing the bugger off, as its the downpipes im more concerned with keeping intact. bit ghey though. lol

Standard can should just slip off, undo the two bolts on the clip and then smack the can with a rubber hammer (in the relevant direction, obviously!). It's a tank of a thing.

Cos the join's near the ground, it might be pretty cruddy, but should respond well to violence.

Don't worry too much about the downpipes, you can be pretty rough with monstering them about.

big set of mole grips/pliers etc round the bottom of the can and wrench it off. Once you've got it off stubby it and use it as a spare can in case the newun gets any scratches or dents.

I have now got a Viper can on my bike which came from a 600. It is a slip on, but the pipe leading into the can was proper whacked in.
No amount of whacking got it back off. So i just cut the pipe off really close to the end can, Then went in with the Gas welder (Cutting nozzle) and cut the "Inner pipe" in half down each side. Then got the 2 half's out with pliers.

Obviously you cant be cutting your main exhaust pipe though. The one I had was cut off about 12" from the end can.

I'm with bendy. Just whack the thing off with a rubber mallet.
