First 4-stroke oil change coming up
Just bought some Silkolene Comp 4 10W-40 for the ZXR, is this okay? By the way - when you put a new filter on - how tight should it be? I heard hand tight is enough.

NOOOOOOO!! You need good old Bertolli oil, it'll make your engine feel younger over time.
10w40 sounds about right though. As for tightening the filter, try to use a grippy cloth or something to add a bit more leverage. ____________________ TiN

I've also read something about actually filling the filter up with oil before screwing it in (as opposed to just lubricating it).
And Ste - I think that a whole combination of factors contribute to your need to change clutches to often. ____________________ TiN

Hi
And the rest
The GPZ500 used to have a filter like yours but the changed it for the later style ones. You cannot even get the original filters anymore. The FZ and Bimota both have set ups like yours. Being honest they are a bit of a pain but at least the filters are cheaper (good job as I have about 20 spare bike oil filters floating round).
All the best
