I went 5 month without mine last year while it was being worked on for the MOT. I get's it MOT'd start of Jan then 2 week later wrote it off. You still have a bike so all is not lost. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Think yourself lucky. Your bike will be fixed soon and you'll be able to ride it again.
For me, my bike is very damaged. I've spent the week on ebay getting parts, and I've got most of what I need, but will still need to go cap in hand to David Silver Spares. I'm looking at spending £500 just on the parts I can't get on ebay, and I've spent over £150 on ebay this week alone.
This is just parts, and I will have to do the work myself. Some of the parts I've bought aren't right either, so will have to do something with those.
I've also discovered a gash on the frame which, although it won't affect the bike, is fairly large and obvious and may affect the resale of the bike.
The work itself isn't too complicated, just time consuming and I'm seriously out of pocket.
But the very worst aspect of the whole thing is going to be my loss of confidence. I was just getting a good feeling about my riding, especially after doing the california superbike school etc, and now I've had a crash. Its probably going to take ages for me to get happy on a bike again, and even longer to trust the rear end again.
Still, I'm hoping the bike will be ready for the spring! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

I wanna brag and be like - yeah, ive got my bike and two 300+ mile rideouts this year so far
But I aint a dick. Much.
sucks lads. St3v3, stop complaining about it, and get a loan! solves EVERY problem you will ever have. Seriously. Debt is actually cool, dont listen to the people who tell you otherwise! On a side note, how did you write the NS off mate?
Marjay, uber bummer - how bad was this crash?
Eddie, the time will fllllllyyyy by if flying means crawl. And crawl means a pace at which you would be absolutely pwned by a retarded, disabled snail.
Bass, I replied in t'other thread and aint checked it yet, will do now
Half, I dunno if you've said in the other thread, but are you stubbying the cans? Cos that would be worth the wait for ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |

i think im going to stubby the cans but apparently the cans already make 98 db. if i stubby it it will be over 100 and then it will be too loud to go on a race track let alone the road!
im still very tempted though.
and my bike might be back on the road by the end of the week! YAY im like a kid at christmas. ____________________ follow my racing season

I've not ridden the NSR since September and that was only to take to the mother inlaws as theres no room in my garage. Before that it was June.
I did manage to go round and fire it up yesterday. I had to hot wire it though (was suprised how easy that was ) as I've still not found my keys. ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

we have been quoted 2500 to fix our aprillia rs 125! thats with labour!.
it will be an insurance job once they manage to contact the lady who hit my partner, and dragged the bike under her people carrier.
The bike was only a week old from bran new when it happened. It just smashed to pieces. |
