Think yourself lucky. Your bike will be fixed soon and you'll be able to ride it again.

For me, my bike is very damaged. I've spent the week on ebay getting parts, and I've got most of what I need, but will still need to go cap in hand to David Silver Spares. I'm looking at spending £500 just on the parts I can't get on ebay, and I've spent over £150 on ebay this week alone.

This is just parts, and I will have to do the work myself. Some of the parts I've bought aren't right either, so will have to do something with those.

I've also discovered a gash on the frame which, although it won't affect the bike, is fairly large and obvious and may affect the resale of the bike.

The work itself isn't too complicated, just time consuming and I'm seriously out of pocket.

But the very worst aspect of the whole thing is going to be my loss of confidence. I was just getting a good feeling about my riding, especially after doing the california superbike school etc, and now I've had a crash. Its probably going to take ages for me to get happy on a bike again, and even longer to trust the rear end again.

Still, I'm hoping the bike will be ready for the spring! Smile

Main thing is if the rider is ok(you). Then trying to get the horse fixed. Generally a bit of a downer if that isn't possible like in my case. Meh, I need another bike soon....... Sad Razz

Sad sucks lads. St3v3, stop complaining about it, and get a loan! Mr. Green solves EVERY problem you will ever have. Seriously. Debt is actually cool, dont listen to the people who tell you otherwise! Laughing On a side note, how did you write the NS off mate?

Marjay, uber bummer - how bad was this crash? Shocked

Eddie, the time will fllllllyyyy by Thumbs Up if flying means crawl. And crawl means a pace at which you would be absolutely pwned by a retarded, disabled snail. Sad

Bass, I replied in t'other thread and aint checked it yet, will do now

Half, I dunno if you've said in the other thread, but are you stubbying the cans? Cos that would be worth the wait for Mr. Green

i think im going to stubby the cans but apparently the cans already make 98 db. if i stubby it it will be over 100 and then it will be too loud to go on a race track let alone the road! Shocked
im still very tempted though.

and my bike might be back on the road by the end of the week! YAY Mr. Green im like a kid at christmas.

I've not ridden the NSR since September and that was only to take to the mother inlaws as theres no room in my garage. Before that it was June. Embarassed

I did manage to go round and fire it up yesterday. I had to hot wire it though (was suprised how easy that was Shocked ) as I've still not found my keys. Embarassed

Ha, moaner

I spend most of november/december til february without my bikes - because they're recovering from post summer crashes which throw up their own problems. My bike has been at the sprayers, mechanics, god knows what for the last 3 months!

Same story last year with my ZXR250, so in 24 months, i've been without my bikes for 6 months, not to mention in summers when i've spent up to 5 months in Indonesia!

I'd like to get as much riding in that time as possible but it's not. So chin up, 2-3 weeks aint too bad.

I rear ended an Astra at roughly 20/30 MPH.

Resulting in 1 broken scaphoid and the other semi fractured,
Most stomachy groinal muscles etc torn.
Muscles and tendons in right thigh area torn.
Astra's light lense cracked and took a gouwdge of skin out of the Inside of my left knee area, awesome scar(if they did designer scars....I'd have one)
Oh, and the rear window forced my visor up on impact so I got a load of glass round my eye, only a tiniest bit went in, resulting in a rather nice scar round and just below my right eye and lucky I've still got my sight. Which is still as mint as it was.

Think that about covers it..... now to pass my test wait a few month(maybe a year) and save up for another one........ R6 or CBR6 if I'm lucky and can afford insurance.
