Yamaha DT125R chain that fits??

I have had my Yamaha DT125R 2006 model for about a year and a half. I recently decided to replace the chain and rear sprocket as the chain slipped off and damaged the sprocket.

I Have tried two chains and so far neither of them have fit. I first tried a TKR 428-126 and it was the correct thickness but too short. I then tried a TKR 520-120 Heavy Duty but this one was abit too long and way too thick.

Does anyone please know what chain size i need because i cant find anything anywhere. Would save me forking out another 30quid on a chain that doesnt fit.

I used a d.i.d. chain,im sure it was a 428 ?
It was a bit too long,but that's not a problem,you just have to remove a few links...

Any decent motor factor's should be able to tell you which one you need.

first off it is deffinatly a 428 pitch there are several options depending on year and sprocket size, i normaly buy one far to long then cut it down if required, asuming you got standard sprockets etc you should find the answer in a haynes i will search it out for you though

You should be changing BOTH sprockets as for a chain to "slip" off it is either not been looked after or already worn to buggery.
