The server is too busy dealing with all the people posting threads about the server being too busy.

Worst i have seen it today,

What is the actual issue?

Hardware? Bandwidth?

How about if active BCF'ers donated a couple of quid each, would that help anything?

I'm guessing there's not enough bandwidth to cope with the amount of people trying to access the website. Either that or some hardware problem.

Ironically I received the dreaded 'Server is too Busy' Page when I attempted to view this thread Smile

Rather than moaning about it is there anything that we as Members can actually do about it without changing the nature of the Forum?

I'm certainly no expert but would it help if Members were encouraged to link their avatars offsite? It's not an onerous task to open up a Photobucket Account and although it might not be a massive drain on the server at least it might start us off on the right track and subsequently might prompt users to link larger photo's in their posts to an external hosting site too.

I suppose we could auto-ban anyone that joined in the last year and ban new registrations, we'd all be ok Wink

Still seems we're on the old server, I thought we were moving over a little while ago Confused

Very nice, but most of those aren't hosted on it any more. And it's got worse since we've been moving them. Mr. Green

Who the hell are all of the guests?
As i speak there are 40 members online and 142 guests Confused
Its never really bothered me before, but its annoying when you have done a search, you're reading the threads and then you get the dreaded 'server too busy to search' Brick Wall

Why isn't it made that you have to be registered to use/read the boards?

Should solve the problems where there are about 20 members and 100+ guests

A quick search on google throws up the manuals thread a hell of alot. i suspect that thread gets nearly as much viewing as the rest of the site and accounts for all those unregistered guests Wink

Same here. Cant be arsed with this site any more really, shame, as its one of the better ones but ruined by a crap server.

Maybe its time that searching was limited to members only, as there always seems to be a huge amount of guests!

Old Thread Alert!
