the grips probably rubbing against the switchgear and holding the throttle back. can you move it away from the switchgear? so theres a few mm gap then it wont stick.

Could possibly be duff throttle cables or perhaps your bar end is making it stick.

check the spacing at the bar end, end. i fitted heated grips on my ZZR and had the same problem, it had to be manually closed, or it would only partially close. i took the bar end off, added a washer then put it back on - just enough space now for everything to work freely.

Check that the heated grips aren't rubbing on the end of the handlebars.

also check that the cable going to the heated grips isnt getting caught against anything like your brake lever or frame maybe. i wouldnt have thought it would stop it turning that much but it can make a difference.
just trying to think of what could cause it to not spin freely.

Take the heated grip off, see if that sorts the problem.

If it doesn't, loosen the cable adjuster at the throttle end and see if that works. An overly-tight cable will stop the return working properly.

If it still doesn't work, then you'll have to take the tank and airbox off and inspect the cables at the carb end. It could be just that the springs are in need of some lubrication, or the cables are rusty.

If the cables are rusty, dismantle the twistgrip and use a pressure applicator to force oil down the sleeves to the other end of the cable.

If it still doesn't work, then you'll have to replace the cables, which will most likely involve you taking the carbs off the engine.

Thumbs Up
