I once had an NC24. I have nothing nice to say about them.
There is a significant likelihood that the problem is electrical. The problem being that most of the NC24 electrical system is pretty weak. Reg/recs go, alternators can be quite tired by this age (epoxy insulation may have cracked off, or it could have just burnt out). CDIs are quite tough. Pickup and ignition coils are now past 20 years old, as is the wiring harness. HT leads run in a very confined, very hot space.
Has it started doing it recently, or have you not had the bike for long?
The carbs are total bastards to get seated on the rubbers, and if someone has made a ham fisted approach to getting them back on you may have a split carb rubber.
Mine did the same thing. Never really got it sorted, depsite a lot of time, effort, and money poured into the thing. Don't spend more than the value of the bike (about £200-300) on fixing it, something else will fail soon afterwards. |
