The little RXS is quite tunable as it has the same reed block and transfers as an rd 125 lc. I'd be tempted to fit a micron or big one pipe on it and jet it you should get an extra 10mph out of it and a bit nippier getting there..as for the styling..erm thats up to you Shocked Shocked

Id much rather ride the second one, looks like a good bit of fun offroad.

Anyway back to the point, a universal MX front mudguard will fit, you just need to make a compression fitting to hold it into the bottom of the steering stem. basically, from the bottom up: bolt, mudguard, suitably sized pipe, nut. Tighten that up and the pipe will get compressed and expand sideways, this should lock it into the steering stem, also make use of any tapped holes on the bottom of the yoke to add other mount points though, you dont want that coming out any time soon.

rear shocks, just buy some stiffer longer ones with the same fitting, 14 inchers would suit.

rd125lc belly pan should fit on nicely with a bit of bracketing.

And heres a tip from ben over in america on how to make expansion chambers for 2ts.
Quote:
For two-stroke riders looking for a cheap, power-producing alternative to aftermarket expansion chambers, try the following: find the point on your existing pipe(s) where the diameter becomes largest (usually a foot or so from the downstream end of the headpipe) and cut it (them) there. Then braze the end (converging) cone and stinger from a junk dirtbike expansion chamber to it. You're usually dealing with a large enough and cool enough pipe that braze will be plenty strong, if you do it right. Try to find dirt bike pipes off a model with a similar displacement to each cylinder of your bike. I had some success doing this to an old GT380 triple and a friend's GT185 twin years ago. I used two RM125 pipes and one that was probably off a YZ125 for the 380. I used all of the YZ pipe except the headpipe, in fact, because the middle cylinder of a 380 splits into two exhausts...all I could use of it was the headpipe. The YZ pipe tucked right around the rear wheel with a little cutting and brazing, and that thing would do easy second-gear wheelies afterwards, even with no rejetting. The 185 gained more top-end but lost a lot of low-end, and ended up holing a piston. Multicylinder two-strokes sound incredible with unmuffled expansion chambers. This approach saves a lot of involved mathematics and should work on most restrictive old two-stroke exhausts, at least with some rejetting, but be advised that you'll trash your original pipes doing it. Might want to try it on a spare set of pipes first, and if you run it lean and hole a piston or two, blame yourself for not jetting it right and not doing enough math--like I did. Good luck.

By the way, I take no responsibility if you fuck up your bike by not making the expansion chamber right.

Oh and get over to www.ratbike.org and have a look in the readers rides section for more ideas.

Cheers
John

Port it, do the squish, use a choke side carb off a 31K model RD350YPVS and fit a Micron pipe. Remove the end can and chop it down, also shorten the baffle to suit. Junk the airbox but do not fit a K&N, run an open carb or bellmouth. Remove the oilpump and run on a high quality 30:1 premix.

The above is what my mate did to an RXS and it went like stink. He was planning a 125 conversion untill it got nicked.

before i start modifying the engine, by making these changes, what's the chances of it blowing the engine up lol ??

Dont bother fitting a new rear mudguard, just trim the old one down with an angle grinder, cut off any unimportant bits, like the plastic below the numberplate etc.

I'd say the pipe is the first thing you want to change as it will be the bit that gives the best performance gain!! Fitting a front mudguard like that will just give you a face full of water every time it rains but hey I guess it's your bike so your choice!!

If you want silly power then BDKracing do a 190cc big bore for them with a matching pipe....as well as a tuned pipe for the std 100cc top end..but it wont be cheap but hey scaring them aprillia 125's and cagiva mitos on an RXS100 has always got to be a giggle!!

as a matter of interest have you measured the length of your standard shocks first?Tthat is hole center to hole center by the was. Also you'll want to match the spring rates for the size bike. No point putting shocks on with springs for a 750 four on the little RXS

Get a set of shocks from a MZ250, they have 2 settings, are 14 inches, and cheap, perfect for jacking up little bikes.

Cheers
