buy the bike if you want it... According to a US website I've just read, they measured it at 34.2 horses. It would be a very arsey copper who quibbled over 1bhp, especially when most Dynos have a tolerance of a few bhp!
An intake restrictor for one would be a stupid O ring with such a large hole that it is more like a circlip!
If I were you, I'd buy it and then put a cable tie around the throttle stop so you can't open the throttle those last couple of MM, and then it should make less than 33bhp... ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

You shouldn't post the same thread in two different sections.

i thought so myself, but a bit of confusion keeps your mind going .
i knew it wasnt much more power, and i thought it might have lost that little bit over 33bhp over a few years.
i think ill go or it, and just ride it, its not like i've ever been stopped on the hornet (that i restricted myself).
cheers,

They are alot of fun. I miss mine! They have loads of acceration and will cruise at 65/70. I changed the oil and filter every 1000miles. ( it only takes 1.7l so its not exactly costly)
My mate and i went to Ireland last week and did 1000 miles and he was on a drz. So if anyone tells you that 'you cant'. They are a silly tit! In fact it was more comfy than my XJR (but i think thats because my seats lost its surport and my legs are a little to long for the bike!)
The drz puts out 35/36! They are just above the limit. Look on ebay. they're are always on for like 20quid, and they are not exactly hard to put in! ____________________ Dave

Whats greenlining
What power does the E model put out ? Ive just found out my S engine has been maintained so badly (from previous owners), someone has bodged the cam chain which overtime has broke the valves/seals, and there is a blockage in the water and now the piston and barrel has overheated and is just nackered. On ebay there is a whole E model engine going pretty cheap, so maybe get that one fitted in. |

Calm down... expecting a reply in under 30 minutes might be pushing it a bit .
I expect you could get the old carb to work ok with the new engine, but you'd have to get it setup right (never a bad thing whatever). |
