 |
|
Hi...
This has been bugging me for weeks. Hopefully you can help me.
I'm looking for something (not neccessarily for a sat nav) to hold my sat nav that has a clear top to it, some way of routing earphone wires out of and will keep the rain out. I'd like to be able to mount it on my handlebar clamp (hornet 600), so that I don't have to look down at the tank.
I'm not bothered how it attaches as long as it's quick to put on and take off and it's fairly sturdy.
This is the sat nav I have.
I'd prefer it to be a bag/pouch as opposed to a box/case.
I've looked at a lot of different ideas, even going down the route of pencil cases, bobble cases. I have also looked at map cases but they're all too big. I have looked at ipod cases like the aquapac but I wouldn't have a way of charging the device when it's raining and they're too expensive anyway!
I hope someone can help me. Please - just throw any ideas you have my way and I will look into them myself if need be.
Thanks so much! ____________________ Summer: '00 Honda CB600F Hornet

clear pocket of a tank bag, most tend to have a clear pocket on the top. ____________________ My Flickr |

i struggled with this for a few months
trying to find something suitable to hold the satnav in
In the end i went for a tank bag and wires from the battery
For sound i use a radio transmitter thing from the satnav to a phone tuned into it
Messy but works, i didnt fancy my ears being attached to the tank bag if i came off...
Originally i was looking for handlebar bag style thing, but couldnt find one with a clear pocket.
Would be ideal, but no clear pocket ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You could just calbe tie the sat nav to the bit where the bars mount, that's what most racers do with lap timers. Not very quick to remove mind. ____________________ My Flickr |

Are you a courier or planning on going to Mount Ararat on your bike?
Forgive me, but that's the only two reasons I can think of for having satnav.
I hate satnav. One of those little things the annoys me ____________________ Suzuki GSX-R750K4 ~ Mivv GP |

The expensive way would be to just get a Tom Tom Rider
Waterproof
designed to be used with gloves on
better vibration resistance for use on a bike
Satnavs are handy to know when you will get home.
set off with the satnav set to home
It will keep updating with ETA to get back home from where ever you are. ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That would be the ultimate solution, but I'm too tight with my money. I don't use satnav often enough to justify spending £300 on one.
The sat nav I have only cost £60 brand new I have tomtom on it anyway. ____________________ Summer: '00 Honda CB600F Hornet

I wonder if you can fit a sat nav through a laminating machine? ____________________ My Flickr |

Nick one of those persplex boxes aftershave sits in, in places like Tesco/Asda, then attach some sort of mini g-clamp thingymaboab to the back of it.
It won't look cheap at all! ____________________ Suzuki GSX-R750K4 ~ Mivv GP |

no other options - get one of those.
im going to get one for myself too, i bought the satnav hodler and everything for my tom tom - but in the rian i have to put a sandwhich bag or freezer bag around it to keep it dry - but when if it isnt tight enough the wind gets in and you cant see it .... so im going to get an aqua box instead. no amount of finding things or anything else will compare to getting one - and they're cheap enough really anyway.
pls you can put your phone and wallet in there for 'non-sat-nav-days' |
