Hi

Normally one of the advertisements at the top of the page links to the "Diesel Kills" webpage but I cannot remember the address or find in in Google.

Thing is I've just nearly come off my bike due to a large spill of diesel, it is towards the middle to back end of a sweeping bend so you are more than likely banked over and it is at least a foot wide. Luckily I managed to keep control (kind of) but others may not be as lucky.

I want to report it to the police but need some back up if they try to fob me off, I think it is a class two emergency which means they can put on the blue lights to sort it out but like I said I want to get my facts straight.

I did the Bikesafe-London course last Friday and diesel spills came up as a topic. If you see one the Met recommend you dial 999 (after you get off your bike) and they will get the local council to respond. If you suggest it is very bad then they may even send out a patrol to get riders to slow down until it is cleared.

Birminghams 'finest' are usually pretty good on diesel spills, called a few in and they are fairly concerned/fast to respond. It IS worth stopping and taking the time to report it, doing so may just stop some poor sod acting as a slider for their bike.
