Today I went to kawasaki test ride festival at Suzuka twin circuit.
-ZRX1200DAEG was not so heavy, and FI engine and everything was very smooth compared to ZRX1200R.
-Z1000 handled very well even by skill less rider like me. Z1000 was the best bike to enjoy this circuit for me.
-ER-6 was very light and handy size but it had much more power than my W650. New ER-6 has got digital tacho and speed but I didn't like them.
-1400GTR was not so heavy for its size, but I felt its width a little bit too wide.
-ZZR1400's acceleration scared me so much.
-And I was so scared by ZX10R. I couldn't ride it at all. It turned out
that I can ride upright bikes only. I was really shocked at it. And now I respect who can ride SS bikes.

Overall, I liked ZRX1200DAEG and Z1000.
Some pictures I took today.

Drooling

I'll take both please.

Really good pics man.

You really notice how high the pegs are on SS bikes when you come from an upright bike, I found it strange coming from a bandit/hornet/SV onto my GSXR.

Also what is with the 80's style airscoop on the lower part of the fairing Laughing

I really hate the new Ninja styling the zx10r wouldn't look to bad once the mirrors were gone.

ZRX is a lush bike!

What's the biking scene actually like in Japan (I presume thats where you are?) It's a shame they dont produce the 400's anymore Sad

Was just thnking the same thing whilst reading.
Would be a good way to try numerous bikes in one day before deciding on a next bike to buy!

Popular classes are 400 and over1000, and not so many middle class. We can pass 400cc licence from 16yo, and no limit licence from 18yo. (125cc licence(16yo) has no merit and no one try it). Automatic limited licences(-400 and -650) were newly made because big scooters are popular among young users.
Upto 250, there's no MOT. Over 126 can go up to highway.
250 is good for economy users who use highway.
400 is good for whom can pay MOT.
Among 400, CB400SF and SB are most popular. It's the bike they ride at riding schools. So they buy the same bike. XJR400 and GSR400 aren't competitive.
Once they pass non limited licence, they jump to over 1000. If you see Suzuki domestic models, you can see what I mean.
There's no bike between 400 and 1250.
There are domestic(=japanese) models and re-import models. Honda isn't keen to sell re-import models and they are selling under powered domestic models.
Kawasaki try to sell re-import models as much as possible. They usually sell malaysian models here. You can see how domestic models are not attractive.
kawasaki domestic
kawasaki re-import
Kawasaki has "bright" brand, yamaha has "presto" brand to sell re-import models.
re-import models are a little bit expensive because they ship the bike to malaysia and ship back to japan again. They are doing such anti-eco activities Confused .
Personally I think UK system is better than ours because riders must step up. Our system is sometimes dangerous. It can be possible that a rich old man buys ZZR1400 as his first bike.

Same here - if you can afford the insurance you can ride a 'Busa at 19 years old (or 17 years old if you restricted it to 33bhp Laughing ).

Ah yeh, I forget about it being legal after 2 years. How the hell did you afford to insure those at 19?!

Interesting Info

I read somewhere a while back that you have, and i may spell this incorrectly: bososzku? teenage gangs rampaging around on motorcycles that basically stick their finger up Middle Finger at the police and do as they wish? are they similar to 1% patch clubs?

Are there meeting places such as the Ace Cafe, and do the sports bike riders pretend to be badass?

Japan is such a facinating place, did anyone watch that programme on BBC last night "Japans Obsession with Fish", very interesting showing carp fanciers, imperial cormerant masters fishing with birds that have rings around their necks, captive tuna breeding programmes, Minimato disease. The sea ladies.

No one likes bosozoku. Even riders hate them.
Ace Cafe is a really nice place. I wish we had such a nice place. We don't have any biker's icon place like Ace cafe. Some gather at bike shops and chat, some gather at Highway Parking Area and showing off their bikes. I heard there's a PA famous for bikers in yokohama but police cars started patrolling and sweep bikes away.
