Just thought I would share a little snippet of insider knowledge. Not spam, I have no affliation with any of the following)

For a few years one of the growth markets for motorcycle insurance was the NIG especially through H&R. They were looking to buy the business in and thus their premiums were very cheap.

Now there is a newish kid on the block - Simply Insurance (www.simplyinsurance.uk.com) who has a deal signed with KGM at lloyds who are looking to grow their account in the motorcycle market and as such they will probably be the cheapest out there.

Product and wording looks good and the service of Simply is supposed to be award winning.

Non of the past motorcycle big names (AXA, NIG, Groupama etc) seem interested in trying to compete with Simply/KGM.

In summary, if you want to try and save money on insurance try Simply Insurance (plus I think they signed a deal/profit share with confused.com so if you go via confused.com you might save a bit more.)

Yep, I'll second that!

Just renewed my S4R from a 3rd party only with e-bike to a fully comp policy with breakdown etc for the same price with Simply Insurance Laughing

They do seem to stick a little on for monthly payments although still can't grumble.

Worth a butchers if you're in the market Wink

Simply were over £200 cheaper than anyone else for me.

I find that the online quote system wont quote you if you say yes to any modifications or accessories.
I did email them direct and they replied that it shouldn't be a problem but best call them so they can check with insurers.

Nice one Trev.

Was quoted £192 TPO with others I've tryed then TP0 with simply is £124, TPFT is £156.

Won't let me do a multibike policy online, do you think they will do them on the phone?

Is age a major consideration for the insurance companies when calculating quotes?

The reason I ask, is that I have just turned 43 and ventured into the biking fraternity late in life. Only been riding since November last year, passed my test the end of March and was quoted £205 Comprehensive for a two year old GSF650 Bandit

Age is a major consideration, and normally for someone older it would be great, but there is a blip in accident statistics at your age (largest amount of crashes is 16-24, then after that something like 35-45) so it might be slightly more expensive.

I don't consider £205 expensive considering I have no lengthy riding experience and jumped straight to a 650cc, I was well happy with it.

Shame I've already paid it, would be interesting to see what that company would have offered

Great tip!

£28 a month comprehensive. Which is £15 cheaper than eBike TPFT (which I'm using currently). I said I was going to stay with eBike to get my no-claims a bit quicker, but this is tempting.

I got £145 on the GSX with them but the cheapest was £62.

That is a year on 3rd party only. The GSX is not worth anything more.

Is who i'm insured with, they were obscenely cheap compared to any other company for me. £540 fc inc euro breakdown cover.
05 gsxr 600, 2 claims 22 years old. no other company could come close, let alone beat it.
