As most of you know I had a pretty big break up with someone of 5 years back in Dec/Jan - pretty poor time for me as I also lost my job.
Didnt think the 'pain' would go away.
Last week a friend told me to message a girl (who messaged her) because she was pretty 'hot'
So I did and I got a response.
Spoke on MSN and swapped numbers.
The next day we met - only for an hour as she had to leave for home and yeah she is really nice - but I didnt think nothing of it - she is pretty trendy and what I would call a 'fit' bird.
Anyhow - from her text I got the hint she liked me and we decided to meet this weekend gone at a bar with mates - I was really nervous as I thought she was pretty. But I got really shy as normal and didnt speak to her - in the end she text me saying I was looking really nice and for once she was nervous.
After a while we chatted, then got cosy in the garden and had a few kisses.
Now since then we have seen each other every day, cuddles kisses and getting along really fine.
I cant seem to get my head around that im a simple/plain dressed girl and shes really trendy, fantastic smile/laugh & she likes me.
She has said she really likes me but im torn - she is 20 - dose act allot older but thats not the point.
I promised myself not to date younger people because some can be head cases.
Only thing Im weary of is that she broke up with her ex last week of 2.5 years but she assured me its not rebound and them splitting up was a long time coming.
Shes told her ex about me and the truth - he ex wants to kill me LaughingLaughing as we know each other aswell
But I am really happy at the moment - the first time in months - I have a smile from ear to ear.
Were not dating, were taking things slow and were both enjoying each others company - but I still have something at the back of my mind =(
Is age a factor, your opinions - I am 25 - 26 in Oct
Its only 5 years but still - Maybe my defence is getting to me more then it should?!

20 year olds are generally dangerous. My mate is currently juggling two mind-gamey 20 year olds (not literally, that would be very cool to see though), it saps my will to live just hearing about it!

Have some fun if it seems right, but I'd be very careful. Remember you are still vulnerable and will naturally be flattered by (especially young and trendy) attention.

You appear not to have two heads, or masses of skin boils, so it's safe to assume she won't be the only lass to express interest. Laughing

Just keep things slow and be wary of any signs of mentalness - clingyness, jealousy etc. As long as the smile stays on your face, and no-one's getting hurt, carry on! Thumbs Up Smile

If the smile seems to fade, then it's time to take a good look at things. Karma

Although I'm not the best person to ask...

It seems to me you are attempting to find a reason as to keep yourself single, ie she is so trendy and pretty more so than me why is she wanting me....

And now age...

I say just ride it enjoy whatever comes of it and deal with any issues that arise hidden under the surface as they come...

Hi Louise, not an easy answer really as it all depends on the individual.

I met my current fella when i was 29, i was married (not happily) with 2 kids and he was 17 and a half (yeh get the kiddy fiddler jibes over) Rolling Eyes

anyway we worked together and got on like 2 peas in a pod, he was very mature and i was a bit of a kid so we molded...anyhooo we got together on his 18th was suppose to be a one nighter but 15 years later we're still together and very very happy,

we still say it seems like we've only been together for a couple of years....we have friends from the age of 20 to 60 and no one can see an age gap as we're so much alike.

like i say it's all about the individual and how they are.

Very Happy

Aye she made a joke about that to me Laughing
In real life she looks more like 18 - I see her without make up because I had to run back for my clear visor and she looked even younger Laughing Laughing Brick Wall
But grrrrrrrrrr I just like her so much.
I worrie, because she is slim and Ive had a child, nothing is the same no more - I already suffer with confidence, or lack off Sad

Until January this year, I always had an 8 year rule in place. Then I met someone 11 years my junior who was too cute not to date!!

But I do think it's down to the individuals involved, some people just click and it would be a damn shame not to see where it goes, see if it has legs...if not you'll always be wondering what if? And that's not a good thing to carry for the rest of your life.

At the end of the day, go with your gut feeling. And good luck. Thumbs Up And have fun!!!

Age is only a problem if you let it be!

There's 4 years between my partner and i, and when we got together i was 16 and he was 20. No big deal! It's all about how you get on with each other and how you treat each other.

If she turns out to be an immature teenager that does you nut in then end it. At least that way you'll never be thinking 'what if?'.

Just don't write this off because you've been burned before by younger girlfriends. Everyone is different! Go for it! Thumbs Up

age is just a number, thats my opinion anyway,my missus is 11yr older than me but i only know because i asked how old she was, after i'd already decided i wanted to be with her!if you didn't know how old she was and you ended up falling in love would you put a stop to it because of age, also if she acts/seems older than she is she could have lied to you if she wanted, but she didn't she was honest, gotta be a good start

She looks really sassy Louise!

Just go out there and enjoy yourself, have a great summer and take one day at at time.

Don't analyse yourself so much, accept that you must have something about you to be able to find someone that wants to have fun with you.

Enjoy!

It'll be fine, none of them are nekkid ones! Laughing

BTW Louise, you need to get the 'why does she like me, she's trendy and I'm plain' nonsense out of your head, both in this case and the future.

I'm a scruffy twat with a big arse, yet I've had plenty of surprise attention from 'trendy' types. Never question someone's reasons for finding you attractive, just enjoy it! Very Happy

Spot on! Thumbs Up

Louise, I wouldn't let it worry you about how she dresses. And to be honest, you think she is 'fit' bird (and she is), but you are pretty fit yourself, dont put yourself down!

The only thing I'd worry about is that she's just out of a relationship, and for that reason I'd try not to get too involved. Just take it easy for a few months.

Thumbs Up

I just 'agreed with this post' (karma thing) before I read the bit where you wrote... "I'm a scruffy twat with a big arse..." Embarassed Laughing

Just want to point out I was just agreeing with the first part! Laughing Thumbs Up

Cheers for the advice Thumbs Up
Had another good afternoon with her and things just seem to be going smooth.
She knows I took this and I think it suits my bike Laughing Cool

I spoke to her about a few things today - one thing I have learnt from my last relationship - if you want to ask things, then ask - dont bottle them up like I did before.
