gs550 starting

Any ideas, recently got a 1979 gs550. Started great and ran well untill I ran the battrey flat. Charged battery but now cant start it. starter solind is clicking loudly, but thats about it. Cant try kick start as thats missing. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have charged the battery fully/correctly ??

How much power is the battery giving ?.
Have a check with a multimetre. ( Im just asuming you can do this )

More than 12v is ideal. . .
Any less and that is proberly your problem.

I havnt put multi meter on battery, but lights , horn etc all working fine.

if the battery is fine but still wont start try jump leads. if this works it will be the kill switch on handlebar. happened twice to me with gs 650 and 850.
if not check the regulator/rectifier as the gs range always had probs with these.

cheers for info suppose best try jump leads first of all. battery only 6 weeks old so would thought that should be ok?

Am i right in thinking that as solinoid is clicking then this and battery ok?

Cant get hold of multi meter till weekend, for sake of £20 i might as well just put new battery on.
