hold your hand over the exhaust and rev it to see if it gets covered in filthy water.
if it does, could be head gasket. check your sump too if the oils gone like tea.
if either of the above happens, ive got a nice GSXR with no running problems ill gladly swap it for ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Could be your radiator leaking a little? Depends really on how much you've had to top it up, and how often.
I had a small rad leak, that took ages for me to find. If you go for a decent ride, the rad gets hot enough to evaporate any water that leaks onto the fins, so you don't notice it. Similarly, it never leaked when the bike was stood. It was only after a short 10 minute ride or so, that you could see water on the rad.
Also, i was bored and couldn't help myself...

Well seeing as that's where the cooling system draws fluid from when it needs to... I'd imagine th answer to be yes.
Why are you surprised?  ____________________

Just to make sure we're all on the same page;
When you had this "Major service" they drained all the coolant and filled it back up, right? (as opposed to not doing anything to the cooling system at all).
After they'd drained it and refilled it, there would still be a bit of air in the system. Running the bike would eventually force all the air out of the system when it get's hot and pressurises. When it cools, it will draw fluid back into the system from the expansion tank. Once all th air is out of the system, it'll stop drawing water from the expansion tank.
Simples!
The better way of getting the air out of the system would be to run the engine for a bit to dislodge any air (but don't let it get too hot), then open the rad cap, and top it up directly there. Rinse and repeat until there's no more air making it's way into the top of the rad. Tis how i did mine.
Ended up with antifreeze all down my leg, because my buddy that was pouring it in whilst I held the bike up missed a bit... ____________________
