Kill switch on ????

Any eletrics work ?

Try pulling the clutch in, as the switch maybe faulty.
Same with side stand...

Are you 100% sure it's in neutral? Check cut out switches on clutch lever and side stand are working.

I take it then, that its turning over.

Have you charged the battery up. If its too low, while it will turn over there is nothing left for sparks.

If its not in netural, you need the clutch in. In fact mine will only start with the clutch pulled in no matter what.

Does the oil light come on when cranking ?

Have a look at the fuses, if other eletrics are not working then there is a good chance that something is wrong with the loom. These bike are well known for the loom connections deciding they have had enough. It could be either the one under the seat, or under the tank.

Sometimes a lot of build of crap from the road gets into the loom's connection(s)or you may have used a high pressured water jet on your bike as you may have pushed some of it into the wiring looms connection points, either that you've now got a dry connection and so try disconnecting them and spray some WD40 into them to see if it helps you?

But as others have said check that there is a power going through wiring loom or if you've got a fuse blown. Either that is one said your battery may need recharging or it's incapable of holding a good enough charge - Check it with multimeter as it should be sitting at about 12volts, as the bike requires that to be able to turn the motor over!

Hi

Is it cranking over? When cranking over does the rev counter move (it is driven by the ignition unit).

That the neutral light isn't on suggests that might be the issue. Think if the stand is down (or the bike thinks the stand is down) and the bike is not in neutral it kills the ignition (there is a complex relay to take care of it).

Neutral light works by earthing the neutral circuit through the switch. If the switch is faulty then this won't happen. Try earthing the wire to the neutral switch (a sky blue wire), and see if the neutral light comes on and the bike starts.

All the best

Keith
