just looking on the net at handlebar or fairing mounted speaker systems for bikes...?

i quite fancy one but was wondering if anyone has actually done this?

the set i was looking at would have a 5" subwoofer and two 4" mid and treble speakers.

Now the ad claims there still very audible even at 100mph+? im scepticle however....

saying that id love to be able to play my music in ambiance as aposed to an ipod in my ears, which in all fairness is probably ruining my hearing Laughing

if anyone could offer me any help, i have a vfr400 nc30

advice greatly appreciated.

thanks guys Thumbs Up Very Happy

You will more likely disturb everyone else unless you have a noisy helmet and standard exhaust on.

there are also volume controls on the front, and i have a full stainless exhaust system which isn't 'too' loud. i think if they just clip onto the handlebars it could be worth a go...although im tinkering with the idea at the moment i was just seeing if anyone else had ever done or even considered doing this?

could just end up sticking with the good old iphone and earphones Smile

You will get a barrage of abuse off here from proper bikers.

You have made it worse by saying iPhone. Just don't do it. Not worth it. There are pictures all over the internet and everyone that does do it happen to be posers taking their bike to a show.

The bike doesn't actually move, hence no room to steer. The pedals power the speakers.

The strong magnets in speakers will affect the gyroscopic stability of your bike...don't do it

I was more concerned with the inability to even go round corners. Its probably a wheelie machine with car batteries in the back!

You want to add weight to a vehicle whose primary performance advantage is lack of weight?

You're crazy.

{edit} Just read your sig. 65.6bhp. That whole 5bhp will be wasted lugging your speakers around! {edit}

Only do it if you can make the volume control a twist grip on your left side handlebar.

Helmet speakers would be good idea if you commute, something to break the bordom on motorways. I've tried normal headphones and hate them in my helmet as they move too easily. Personally I just use ear plugs though Smile
