Magnesium vs Plastic

Ok, so going through toe sliders like a chav through cheap booze.

Found out today you can get magnesium ones,

do they last longer than plastic ones?
What did you think of them?
Where the hell can I get some?

Also my boots are Alpinestars Mx-4

Completely irrelevant, but my phone's case is made of magnesium and it's the only phone I've had that has lasted a year without me breaking it, apart from my SLVR which also had a case made of some sort of metal.

Magnesium is relatively soft for a metal isn't it? Like softer than Zinc. Can't imagine it will last any longer than a hard plastic.

Stick the feet furthur back on the peg, so your toes are right up on them. Simple fix

I do pull my feet further back when going round the corners but still manage to get my toes on the floor. And I think the feet on the floor thing is that I sometimes ride with them hanging off the pegs to give my knees a rest but not round corners.

No, theres no two ways about it.


Ride around corners with your toes on the peg....they wont scrape the ground. (EDIT: Unless you have quite literally size 20 feet OR you have shockingly soft, shitty suspension)


I occasionally touch my toes down on track, but only when Im getting knackered and havent quite put my foot back properly after a gear change.


You arent putting your feet back properly if youre using toe sliders.

With normal-sized pegs you have to have damn big feet to get your feet to touch down if they are on the peg properly - generally the peg will touch down first.
If bits of bike or feet are touching down and my foot positioning was half-decent, I'd be looking to hang off more, then to raise the ride height of the bike a bit.
