I know this topics been done a few times, but I think we should have it again.
What's your views on life from other planets? Does it actually exist? Are they walking among us?
Personally, I'm certain there is something out there. I'm hoping there's lots out there. Maybe they are watching us from space, waiting until we pass some goal they may have set. Once we have passed this goal, for example, making it 1million miles from out home planet, they will make themselves known.
This test could prove that our race has the power and technology to achieve this, but obviously if we have that power, we also have the power to destroy, i.e nuclear weaponry.
If we have managed to achieve the goal without destroying ourselves, then maybe we are a trusted race?
Maybe humanity was told this thousands of years ago, but religious leaders hid it from
everyone?
Or maybe we really are just alone... ____________________ Currently Riding - 2002 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille |

In short, yes, I definately believe there is other intelligent life out there.
Are they technologically advanced? I don't know, maybe, I think it's plausible.
Are they amongst us? Men in black style? No, but I think that many UFO accounts are genuine and I do think we have been visited by extraterrestrial life, both in the Mayan/Sumarian times and in the present.
As an aside, I often have reoccuring dreams whereby I see hundred/thousands UFO's flying across the sky of all different shapes and sizes. Sometimes the visitors are friendly, sometimes they wreak havoc and destroy. I like to think that within my lifetime we'll get a definite answer.

Hi
Pretty certain statisically that there are other life forms on other planets. How many are intelligent, and how many of those are intelligent at the same time as us is another question. After all, things that look like humans have only been around for about 1/20000th of the life of the earth. Chances of us being around at the same time are the same as the chances of 2 people bumping into each other in a place that they each spend about 1 minute a month at.
All the best

I think you can spend so long reading books and reading/writing on the internet about whether there are other species of beings in the universe that you wont make the most of meeting and itneracting the ones that are all around you.
That's a long winded way of saying i dont really care either way. |

There could well be (and probalby is) life on other planets in other galaxy's / universe's. But the time it would take to travel that far, civilisations could be born and die off again.
Human's, arguably have been around for about 200,000 years. Although this 'Lucy' (humanoil fossil that walked upright) was dated at 3 - 3.6 million years.
If we were to travel to Andromeda Galaxy (2.5 light years) is would take around 2 & half million earth years, and that would be if we could even get close to travelling at the speed of light!
I doubt that humans will ever see intelligent life from another planet, although I'd love to be wrong! ____________________ ZXR750R (M2) - For the road.

Clearly you must be referring to us discovering warp-drive technology? Isn't this what lead the Vulcans to visit Earth in Star Trek: First Contact?
Clearly the Vulcans aren't watching as I rode to work this morning at warp-speed on my VFR...don't think I'll be doing the same speeds home due to the fact it pizzled down quite badly earlier this afternoon. ____________________ Rides - '60 Plate Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25, '03 Plate Kawasaki ZX6R B1H and an '87 VFR400 NC24

It's not so much that I believe there is Life on other planets, so much as I can't believe there isn't.
As for walking among us, tell me Derren Brown isn't an alien.

I like the idea of there being other life, but on the other hand I get a bit annoyed that I'm probably not going to see it. Feel like I might miss out on it!
No difficult maths is required really - if somewhere's 2.5 light years away (i.e. it takes light 2.5 years to get there), and we can travel at almost the speed of light (hypothetically), it'd take us a little over 2.5 Earth years to get there. So wouldn't be impossible to get there and back within a lifespan, as long as you can get to almost light speed! ____________________ 1999 GSX-R 600, 1999 TL1000R |

I guess then the quote I took was if the ship was to travel at speeds we know are capable, rather than at speeds we cant! |
Ah, fair enough then. I've just been on Wikipedia to try and figure it out, out of interest. Apparently light travels at 670,616,629mph, and the fastest we've been is about 25,000mph in space. So light is about 26825 times as fast as we've been, so it'd take about 67,000 years to get to Andromeda!
Apparently we've had an unmanned spacecraft go 157,000mph, so that'd only take ~10,700 years to get there...
Sure we could go faster if we really tried though. ____________________ 1999 GSX-R 600, 1999 TL1000R |

All examples of conscious life are components of the same one universal consciousness, and the distances between them are an illusion.
Next time you have an OBE see how long it takes you to travel 2.5 light-years, or a distance a trillion times greater or more...it takes as long as it takes you to think yourself there. Because the universe is an illusion that exists only in your mind, and your mind is the same universal consciousness that is every other conscious being's mind.

Right, here's the thing. We are part of 'God's' chemistry set. Basically God created a planet, and set up life forms, that evolved over several thousands of years. Human's came about, and set about destroying the planet, themselves, and other living creatures, because they could. This world got buggered up, trashed by the human life, they killed the ozone and stuffed up the entire eco system, so badly that they killed off themselves and the planet...apart from a few who escaped into space.
This planet is known to us as Mars.
The humans who escaped into Space, have evolved into grey creatures (because their flesh see's no sun), they have perfected the art of telepathy, so have large heads, and large eyes to be able to see in the dark.
Billions of years ago, God decided to create life once again on another planet in his chemistry set...that planet being us, Earth...and lo and behold, it seems like we are heading in the same direction as Mars...oops!
The people who think they see Aliens, are actually those who are being re-visited by humans evolved by billions of years. They are as fascinated by 'us' as we are the 'chimpanzee'...
