...really should read random forums, so they can finally see and understand just how much they are despised and held in contempt. Because I really don't think they get it, they really do think the broad mass of people support and believe in them.

Couldn't agree more, if they understood just how disillusioned the majority of the Uk are with their inept, greedy, corrupt mis-management of anything more complex than wiping their own arses, they might just do something about it. As long as they continue to live in denial, thinking that they are doing a wonderful job, thankyouverymuch, then this country will continue to degenerate into a stiking chav infested s**t pile.

Cheers

Election campaigning? They lie through their teeth for something, don't they?

They have the vast majority shuffling around the pavements, shops, service stations and airports like zombies, all looking down at their feet, constantly worried about their beliefs, their cash, the authorities and the scum that wandering about with us. Meanwhile they are driven from AtoB to gatherings of like minded 'educated' blazer wearing cunts, where they eat their way through our hard earned non existent paper, talking about the futile attempts of civilians.
Human psychology has been worked out to the endth degree, its utilised in the most basic of ways in advertising electronic room fresheners so when it comes to what you see and do around you they're closing in. The system is 5 steps ahead and while you're happy finding loop holes in road tax and planning permissions they've fucked your children and your children's children.
Bring on 2012

Wealth does that to people, you don't have to be a politician to be so wealthy that the need to hold a grasp on reality no longer exists. I've met a lot of these rich non working types over the past 18 months.

I read an article the other day and wish I hadn't, top 10 richest tories or something along those lines. Anyone in the top tiers of the political class is exceedingly wealthy, usually with another great whack to inherit when whatever successful parents they have pop their clogs.

Politics is just a high powered game to play, massage the ego a bit for a few years to pass the time, before retiring in obscene luxury to hell with anyone else.

Arrow Why on earth would they care what we think?

It's apparently easy to convince a voting majority in this country, helped of course by the ridiculous first past the post system. I can only conclude that most people are massively stupid or just happy in their ignorance.

Labour won some scottish constituency election thing last week didn't they? I mean really, after everything, what in the fuck is going on.

Until the greed is removed from politics nothing will change for the 'greater good' (if there is such a thing). To remove the greed, you would have to instill a change in basic human nature (if you pay them more, you would attract greedier cunts, if you pay less nobody would do it), so we are basically fucked for the thing ever improving.

Meh.

Which tends to maintain my conviction that the only hope is death and never having to have to come back to this sewer.

Despite my repeated attempts to convince myself there is hope and that something can be done, I'm fvcking kidding myself, aren't I.

I've recently begun to entertain the notion that the human race was created by ET as a DNA R&D project. It would explain a lot. I don't think we are natural/native to this universe. No mechanism such as the universe is could possibly spawn a species like the human race, it just doesn't gel. Animals yes, but intelligent ones? We had to have been engineered by a 3rd party. And what a fvcking mess they made of it. Truly, an utter shambles. We cannot evolve out of this mess, and that was never a possibility right from the start. The end was inevitable all along.

The only hope is that consciousness is eternal and death is an escape. And if it's not, well, that won't matter then.

Its not because they care about us thats for damn sure.
Politicians will say anything and do anything to get their party in power....once there they just come up with loads of excuses as to why they cant do what they promised at the moment (whilst all the time reaping the rewards of "being the man") Rolling Eyes

Politics has never been about "what the people want".....even though thats how it should be.

My views on politics and authority are very similar to yours. Wink

I think the best example is Michael Portillo (who is no longer a politico) in that for 2-3 months a year (they get 3 months off for summer vacation so there is plenty of time) they are to live on the NMW and work for it like everybody else, on a typical NMW standard of living ie pokey flats , terrible food and 1/3 of it taken in tax before it hits their bank account.

There is a trend of back to the floor arrangements where the board of directors spends a week working on the shop floor and a week in the behind the scenes part of the company.

Such that they get a feel for how it really is and how to make changes and improvements.

It would form a sort of reconnection, such that if they wanted their 2-3 months a year to be better then they would strive to improve society and living conditions of poor people to make it better.

Its like share options.... exes are motivated to improve company performance to jstify their rewards rather than just get fat bonuses (this is part and parcel of the combined code of the listing requirements of the FTSE)

Either that or after they are booted out they are to live on NMW with bank accounts frozen for a period of 18 months...

If they improve the daily lot of the working man their 18 months sevitude is comfortable, if they make it worse then they only have themselves to blame.

These people will think everything is going swimmingly as long as there are no demonstrations, mass civil disobedience, threats or media hysteria.

Most of us are somewhat put off demostrating as sitting on tarmac for 6+ hours surrounded by cops with the very real threat of a beating or state murder isn't a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

They've got the bases covered. Make demos intimidating, no demos, no problem!

The only way to defeat the beast is by eating away at it from the inside, like the Muslims and BNP are.

If there was one person, with their feet on the ground, with a vision, morals, intelligence, compassion and no fear of telling the fucking truth... who managed to get in, a real person, what a delight.

As WG says... it is a matter of greed. I'm sure they start off in politics for good reasons, then slowly, they get to be just like the rest of them. Beaten down and paid off by the men in the shadows.

I really don't think they care.

I've just been watching a program on ch4 called dispatches, about the huge sums of money taken by the tories to influence their statements about israel.

Apparently when Israel massacred civilians after a few ineffective missile attacks from terrorists, it was wrong of Mr Hague to call it disproportionate.

He toed the line and in future appealed for people to understand that Israel was only reacting to attacks made on it.

It takes a lot of money to keep party machinery running, everyone who donates, might feel insulted if their wishes werent adhered to. They might stop donating.

Needs must.

And this is only the stuff that people know about that can prove. I'm sure there is a lot more that people know about but can't prove, so can't say due to libel laws. And even more that we just don't know about.

You don't get powerful without shaking hands with powerful men.

I'm a little surprised that hetzer might think politicians care about dissenters on a motorbike forum.

If we were on a muslim fundamentalist website, we may well get put under house arrest if we said something a bit hot headed online.

Its because BCF has a nice cross section of society and is possibly representitive of the wider community at large..

Lets suppose for a minute, that's the case.

Politicians don't care about those who don't swallow their lies. The battle is for those who still have some faith in one colour or another.

Its vaguely possible that a protest vote, for nutters, might get noticed, but ultimately, politicans cant follow their convictions if they want to get hold of power or hang onto it.

They will still always have to shake hands with powerful men, who will influence policy to their own ends.

Agree with this, as a 'people' we can/could be very powerful. However, it would require a dedication that I doubt we would be able to muster.

I'm sure fight club mentioned something like "its only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything". It's over the top but its a nice quote, and relevant.

You have to be prepared to lose your stuff, your vehicle, your consumer goods, your house, your freedom (prison), your health, your relationship with your friends/family, possibly your life.

You'd turn up, ready to go to do your bit, and you'd be hung out to dry by every other cunt who didn't quite care enough to show, opportunity cost of missing X-factor.

Truth be told, do you really give that much of a shit, do I? As hetz points out, it might be nice to consider that this is merely a stage, a test, a dream, an experiment, a fleeting second, a path to a better place.

Or we might just wind up in a box in the ground after 80 years in which case it wouldn't matter anyway, and we might wonder to ourselves why did we bother our arses getting so wound up.

This apathy of course, is just what they want. There is no winning.

I'm not sure it was meant to be entirely humorous. Any independent thinker not set on maintaining the current cosy political status quo would be a significant threat to all three main parties should he/she gain any measure of mass popular support.

It's not as if there isn't a history of people capable and willing to just embarrass the government unexpectedly finding themselves committing involuntary suicide. How do you think the real power brokers would react to the prospect of their personal puppets cutting their own strings?
