Ok, I had 4 things to consider ...
1. Oil in WR250F has done few hrs since last change, but at the end of the day only covered <200 miles.
2. Oil in SV - can't remember when last changed it ... (but pretty sure it has probably not done more than 2,000 miles since).
3. Oil in Van - thing smokes a fair bit on startup and probably puffs a little when going along!?!? - so needs perpetual 'topping up'.
4. new oil isn't free/really cheap
So ... me being really tight .. this is what I did ....
- Drop 2L of oil out of the SV .... pour oil into empty 4l oil bottle.
- Drop 900ml of oil out of the WR ....
- Pour the 900ml used WR oil into the SV
- Pour 1.1L of new oil into the SV
- Pour 900ml of new oil into the WR
- Top van up with the used SV oil.
Job done!!
That's recycling that is!!
Anyone else do this sort of shiz or am I the only person that is this environmentally friendly*?!!?
*ok ok ... 'tight' ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity.

For the effort of changing oil I wouldnt waste my time 'recycling' oil when its not that expensive as doesnt have to be done all the time. I take it your changing the filter too as I would imagine used oil would shorten it's life.

1. For years I used old engine oil to lube my chain!!
2. I buy the oil in 4L tubs.
3. I only used 2L of new oil, yet gave the WR fully fresh oil (well 3/4 fully fresh) - the SV has ~50% new oil and 50% barely used oil, so that is good to go too ... and the remainder found/will find its way into the van where it will happily burn it off!! ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity.
