Then this thread is for you Smile

Post pics of your rusty, battered, rancid, bodged, aged, unfashionable, slow, ratty, tatty old Gary Glitters here...if you can be arsed. If it's possible to take a picture of your bike without the lens cracking Shocked

I don't understand why you are proud of having a bike that looks like a death trap. It's like people who 'rat' their bikes.

You say you love the bike, so why not give it some love?

Looks like a death trap...but isn't Wink MOT passed a fortnight ago with no problem whatsoever.

This is what a bike looks like when it's subjected to 20,000 miles a year for two decades Wink

Now...how about showing us your shitter? Razz

Lovely stuff - it doesn't get much better than a naked Powervalve. I spy some interesting bodges and imaginative use of cable ties - nice Smile

Well, I have to be careful what I say here as it's for sale Laughing (although I'm having second thoughts) but I suppose this is my shitter and my only bike since I just sold my plastic fantastic. I wouldn't really call it a shitter but it won't be appearing in a concours d'elegance any time soon. It's a hoot to ride on the road with the road tyres on.

Commuter-hack Wink:
https://gees.zenfolio.com/img/v4/p689635156-4.jpg

Has got a bit more road-grime on than in the picture.

Other bike used is considerably dirtier, but is actually two years newer:
https://gees.zenfolio.com/img/v7/p684017855-4.jpg

ZX9, which might have been more what you were looking for has been decommissioned, probably permanently, as the cost of sorting the various bits that need doing is probably a fair bit higher than it's worth in parts and I can't be bothered to look for the electrical fault more.
(If it wasn't for the expensive exhaust, I'd take it proper-'laning for a laugh, but it is Sad.)

It's took 3 years of abuse so far, only gone through 2 cams, 3 rocker arms and a cct. It;s still going strong.

27Cows, your MOT tester must have glaucoma as those fork stanctions are disgusting, criminal almost. No excuse for having a bike that much of a shitter when most of the bits are still available new.

And wouldn't it fail with the speedo how it is, too?

Nothing wrong with the fork stanchions where it matters. No oil leaking. No damage to the surfaces where they pass through the seals.

Speedo? You don't need it to even work for the MOT (but mine does...it's just missing two inches of needle Laughing ).

This is what bikes look like when they're used constantly through all weathers for many years.

Taken at Theale - sadly they didn't have the fountain running - ir's where I often take bikes for tarty pictures.
Was a bit of a nightmare getting the GSXR back up the motorway bridge, though was fine on the way out.

Barry - E model, I'm afraid. If you sort the electric issue, probably needs the valves doing and 3rd gear is dodgy (spare gearbox available though.) However does have a few farkles like full Ti Akrapovic system with extra TI Micron can, Ohlins shock + steering damper, harris rear sets, etc.
