You dislocated your shoulder again and you're wonder if it's worth the risk? I'd suggest that you stop doing whatever it is that has caused you to dislocate your shoulder again, then you should be able to ride a bike without problems.
Cars are dangerous, how many people do you know who have been killed in car crashes?
Bikes are dangerous... crossing the road is dangerous, walking up or down stairs is dangerous, etc etc.
Do you ride a pushbike on the roads?
The risks from riding a bike are different to the risks of driving a car. In a car there isn't really any risk of falling off and being run over by a lorry. On a bike there isn't really any risk of crashing and then being trapped inside your burning vehicle. |

I would rather be on my bike than in the back seat of a 3 door car any day.
Bikes are dangerous, FACT. But that, I'm sure, is what motivates a lot of people to ride them. (Other than that its a fanny magnet)
But people can have a life time without crashing on a bike. Or if you Dunc about 3 weeks.

Yep bikes are a big risk but so is walking to the shops you could be Run down by a bus, Blown up by terrorists, Ripped apart by a illegal pitbull, Slip on a banana skin and break your neck and be paralyzed, of heaven forbid a plane engine could fall out the sky and squish you.
Stop being a poofter and get a bike ____________________ DL650 Vstrom 2004

Life's for living.
Better to regret doing something than spend a lifetime wondering how it would be?
Try it... It's not like you can't sell the bike and buy a car, (when you're 17) although I can pretty much guarantee you, you will love it.

I see what you did there, but your questions seem to be pretty biased towards your point, as a posed to neutral for 'research' as you suggested at the start of the post.
I'm sorry, I won't be made to feel like a guinea pig to prove your point.

This is a funny thread to read, TOMMY is 100% right in everything he has said I don't really see how it can be argued that bikes are safer
However I would never let that stop me riding, despite the practicalities if it came down to it and I could only ever have one or the other it would be a bike every time.
By the way OP you're pretty unlikely to get an unbiased opinion about bike safety from a forum full of bikers

Its risky, those of us who ride accept the risks, no one can tell you if you should accept the risks, its up to you to decide if riding bikes is worth it for you.
