This should make an appearance on my driveway next Saturday.

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/whers84/1.jpg

I guess I had a bad week at work last week.

Anyone want an XR125 or Superfour? I'm running out of space.

Nice! Is it a 954? That's the best shape fireblade in my opinion. Thumbs Up

Yeah. I remembered when I parted with my RRN, the only Blade I had eyes for was a 954. The thing's been staring at me for a couple of weeks, went to take a look at it. Made a payment.

I'd like to change the front indicators back to standard, maybe change the can, but other than that, might treat it to a decent clean once I've got my mitts on it.

I agree. The engine casings had a few light spots of what looked like road grime flung onto them, the shock had the odd stone chip and the undertray hadn't been waxed in what looked like ages...

I'd probably be advertising the Superfour around £750-£800 or so, see if that attracts anyone. Or I'd just stick it on Ebay with a low reserve.

Hmm...nothing really...they've changed my outlook on biking considerably, and I plan on keeping my dog slow DRZ and NC30 for those calmer days.

But every now and then, what with the weather slowly turning, I've missed other aspects of biking as well. Like riding like a twat, venturing further afield on biking holidays, taking up track riding, etc.

I guess I can have my cake and eat it.

Just got a call. Blade's ready for collection.

Just need to give the Superfour a wash then I'd go pick it up. Hope this weather lasts.

ZOMG... That hugger's not colour matched!

You will love being able to carry about all your autoglym bottles under the seat though.

I doubt you'd need to do anything to that bike other than to fit a chain oiler (like my tutoro). You can probably get away without fitting a power commander since the FI is a lot better than the 929's. Even still, I'm jealous because I wish I was able to afford that extra bit of cash for the 954. How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking? I think only a stainless steel or titanium akra will do... something that will mirror the looks of the original without making it look too chavvish.

Oh, and get some R&G's on that thing straight away... saved me a fortune in broken fairings when mine got knocked over a few times by dozy neighbours and drunken mates!

Some pics pre ride from today.

Bike's not too shabby, needs a little tidying. I'm umming and arring about whether to change the exhaust. Cam chain's a little noisey on start up, but quietens to the usual clutch rumble when up to temperature. Will be looking into getting a replacement tensioner from David Silvers me thinks.

Hugger's standard colour for this vintage of Blade Titz, although will look far better in black. Underseat storage is woeful in comparison to the Superfour's, although adequate to transport enough items for commuting, and far better than the 600RR. Paid a bit over £3k for the bike. 2 previous owners, full history, 16k on the clocks.

Strangely, the Blade feels smaller than the 600 as well - less of a stretch to the bars and a little more comfy for me. Confused

i bought a tutoro and was a little dissapointed with it, the nozzle never stayed where it was supposed to, i had the duel nozzle one, and one of the nozzles broke off meaning oil dripped out of the tube and the second nozzle at the same time, its now removed and shoved in the bottom of my garage

I now just clean it regularly and oil after with old engine oil and a brush

love the bike too

The swingarms on the FI blades look dead sexy. At least honda learnt to put bobbin lugs on the 954. Whereabouts you living in the south east since I'm going to be in ashford for 3 months and need to know some good roads.

Take it easy, they are very easy to crash as Tatters and I will attest. I think its partially down to the crap BT016 tyres though.

This, of course, depends on your definition of crap. From a tyre I find that feel is the most important factor. The Pirelli Diablo for example (one of my favourites) May not have outright grip, but it communicates to the rider and if you do something stupid it lets you know. It sends progressive messages to you telling you that you're taking the piss.

The BT016 on the other hand may indeed be grippier (and it probably is) but you get absolutely no warning before it breaks away. I know this from experience, and G has also had a similar experience on a CBR600RR on 016's.

I'd like to try a 954 blade on Pirelli Diablos to see how much of a difference it would make to my riding.

Had the best road tyres money can buy at the time on mine pilot power 2CT,s did,nt help when the bike back fliped and snaped the frame in half or low sided on gravel into a lamp post.

I think becasue they handel so well and are quite powerful its easy to start taking the piss.

Its funny that all the bikes l,ve owned the two 954 blades were the only ones l,ve had bad crashes on, still would love to get another blade. Wink
