The RXS is finally on the road =)

Finally finished the bike on saturday, Running sweet as a nut, but wont idle below 1500rpm... Doesnt bother me though!
Pulls nice to a top speed of 72-75mph at 9400rpm.
Doesnt handle too shabby for a commuter from the 80's!
Drums have finally decided to start working now I've got all the crap off from standing for so long!
Ignition barrel has decided to break now, So I have no neutral light, But the bike kicks over even with no key in the ignition, So I just choke to kill it after a ride... Or stall it in first =P

I'm glad she's running... Total cost is
£100 for bike
£20 for carb
£35 for petrol tank
£10 in petrol
£104 for insurance
AND AWAY I GO! Cheap motoring or what? =P
oh, and 2 spark plugs at £1.50 each lol

Not bad, mine was about 250 all in with 12 months T&T. Quite a lot in parts if you consider the bike cost 35 quid!

Congratulations! Glad after all the hassle you've finally got it working. I took the easy route and bought one that was pretty much road worthy yesterday and couldn't be happier Smile

Mine idles at about 1500rpm as well so I guess that's normal for the bike. Just got to buy a new battery and I'll be on the road.

Ignition switches don't last very well on the RXS - I think I'm on number 5 now Shocked

Although I've only ever bought one new (pattern) and that's survived about 8 years so far.

I don't think I've ever not been able to idle at around 1300 revs, even with a top end that had done nearly 80,000 miles and rattled madly.

Mine RXS seem to stall now and then in my short trip to work (didnt use it everyday) when it was really cold. Now seems fine though!!

Glad your enjoying it, filtering on the RXS around town can be done VERY quickly Shocked

(though the brakes make it a whole new experience Laughing

)

The brakes are something you get used to lol
My sidelight, brakelight, and tail light all went in one day!
Headlight still works, but I only realised after being pulled by a copper last night... Thank god he was a friendly one! let me go seing as I was less than a mile from home! =D
