Only recently getting a problem with fueling or air on the 7R.
Out for a ride at the weekend, the bikes running sweet as a nut. When i have stopped at lights for a minute or two and then pull away the bikes splutters...once it completely stalled!
Whats going on there?!
Im running her only on good fuel from either Texco or BP. I haven't had the problem until recently.
Cheers

Does it run lumpy at idle?
What's it like cruising at 30-40?
Did it stall when you let the clutch out, or when you tried to give it some gas, or when you knocked it into 1st?

Runs fine at idle, rpm is consistant.
It happens when i release cluth and give some throttle, its splutters as if im running out of fuel but i know im not. I have to give it some beans to raise the RPM and it clears itself. This doesn't happen everytime i pull away. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Have you had the tank off recently?
It sounds like it's not got enough fuel there, or, too much air getting in from somewhere on the inlet side. ____________________ ZXR750R (M2) - For the road.

mate you need to get your carbs apart and give them a good clean, prob got shit in there. have you ever ran the tank dry,if so you would have pulled loads of crap through, even small bits will get through the fuel filter.
if it was the carbs icing up, you'd notice it as you were constatly riding, not just from pulling away etc.
used to have the problem of the carbs icing on my zx7r. ____________________ TL1000R Fighter,TL1000R ,Husaberg 650 ,883 sportser,Ducati 996,RGV/RS 250 Special Fighter

Oh i think i forgot to add that this problem seems to only be happening when it's warm.
I go to work in the mornings with no issues (cold air) then on the way home she gets really hot (45min ride) when i get back to my town the problems start there. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Hi
Wonder if it could be fuel vaporisation? Fuel in the lines turning to vapour and preventing fuel flow, or in the carbs richening the mixture? Not sure of how the ZX7R fuel system is laid out (ie, where the fuel pipes run relative to the hot engine / radiator, where breathers go, etc), so not sure if this is possible on your bike. If it is then I would expect it to be a bit of a pig to restart when it stalled.
All the best
