 |
|
I know there is many many threads already about this, but there must be something im just not grasping...
Ive been practising power flickups for the last few days now, as as you'd expect its falling as i havnt got enough revs, and shift up and it drops. like so
https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o297/Gfxs/th_bestsofar.jpg
Ive heard about clutch ups before
As in 2nd gear, around 4k hit clutch all the way in then loads of gas and let go, the 636 only seems to lurch forward which makes me think im doing something wrong as it dosnt feel like it wants to lift at all on clutch?
what am i doing wrong? body positioning? not enough revs? not letting clutch out fast enough?
Cheers for all the help ____________________ Past: '05 Peugeot XPS '99 Aprillia RS125 '94 FZR600R

2nd gear on standard gearing at 4k rpm is probably a bit low - practice the technique (start small of course) in first, they play about at different points of the rev range in second.
Or get it higher in first .3
In the video it doesn't sound like you were running out of revs - have you made sure you can fully easily rotate your hand around to full throttle - start with your hand pointed higher up. |

I did get it higher but my camera man was kicking stones most the fucking time
felt like i was running out of revs alot too, like bouncing on the limiter
So is it not dangerous trying clutching in 1st?
what kind of revs on a 636 would we be thinking 8k as it really comes on cam at like 10, ____________________ Past: '05 Peugeot XPS '99 Aprillia RS125 '94 FZR600R

best thing to do is try, if 4k won't get it up, try 6, if 6 can't, try 8, just cover the rear brake ____________________ 2017 KTM 350 XC-F - 2014 Yamaha R6 - 2005 Yamaha YZ125

This is in no way an expert opinion but what ive experienced while 'dabbling'. Ive clutched my '00 6R up in 2nd but it wasnt far off the limiter before I could get it to come up (prob 11-12k+)
Will clutch up at around 8k in first, I think (generally not looking at the rev counter when im trying to hoist a minger )
With revs any lower in 1st or 2nd it kind of just slips a bit and launches forwards.
I found a little tug on the bars meant I could get it up from lower rpm but gave me brown pants from getting a little to high for my own comfort. |

watch at 2:12 on my video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNUaLiTfWKg
and you can see my 2 fingers, I take it yours is cable operated so it might not be as easy. It's a case of slipping the clutch, rather then holding it in, revving it and pinging it out IMO. ____________________ Turbo R1

When my forks come back from the shops on Friday I'll do you a video mate
This is the only video i watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qncPBZ9DRRk Copy it to your phone, and go play on a quiet road or private road. Take your time and follow his steps.
Remember to keep your arms loose so the bike's front end doesn't have to lift your stiff upper body too, and sit as far back on the seat as you can. ____________________ Turbo R1
