 |
|
Had a look at my chain yesterday and noticed that it sits on top of my centre stand.... I don't have a picture, but I will get one tomorrow (just on my way to work).
My chain doesn't seem that slack either, so why's it like that? I thought it may be causing damage to the chain in the long run, so thought i'd best mention it!
Cheers,

ok
check the righthand side of your centre stand. there should be a flat bit with a hole in.
is there a rubber bung bolted on it? if not that'll be your problem.
there should be a rubber bung on it thats about 3cm big that rests against another flat bit in your exhaust midpipe when your centre stand is up. if this is missing your stand will sit too high and touch the chain.
unfortunately iirc they dont make the bungs anymore so you'll have to improvise something i had to do it with my 1st cbr and used a rubber door stop with a bolt through it. ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

That sounds about right because the centre stand also touches the end can - it took me a while to realise what the noise was when going over bumps! I'll have a look tomorrow, thanks! ____________________ My Project - Honda CBR 600 F2/FM |

How odd, I've had the same thing happen this week, went over a bump, big clang! Thought I'd broken something, when I got to work I looked the bike over and on the side-stand with a little effort the chain touched the centre-stand, after a little investigation I discovered my bung was also missing. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |
