 |
|
Hi guys,
Was looking at getting a 600 but after a looong talk with my family they agreed to pay the difference to get me a less powerful bike (got an extra 2 grand from all my family ). So, instead of feeling unsafe on a 600, I got myself the best 4 stroke 125 that I could find, a new Yamaha YZF R125!
I thought i'd post some pics. Before anyone says the usual you're daft for spending so much on a 125, someone care to save me from ending up under a truck for the sake of some guy telling me my bike was too expensive and wasn't any good because it was too slow? I feel safe on a 125, and so that's my choice, okay?
So, here's some pics, and I'm perfectly happy with my little commuter I got here.

I've gone for something I enjoy, and I do enjoy it, and that's all that matters. So, off from the price tag, as I paid the same as my old CBR for it really, what do you guys think? |

I think it looks good for a 125, but others are gonna come here and piss on your dreams.
If you're doing your test just to take the L's off then dont bother.
If you're doing your test to get a bigger bike then this was a waste.
its not a commuter. you may use it as one, but its not...

Yeah I'm doing my test to take the L's off, but after previous crashes I want to do my test and take the pass plus and anything else out there to help me avoid potential accidents. Of course, you can never prevent some shit pulling out on you though ...
I use it as a sporty commuter but it handles so beautifully, it's so smooth and corners like a dream. I let the gf's dad have a go and even he said it was incredibly fun around the lanes and honestly the best handling and smoothest bike he'd ever ridden.
It's not super fast, but it's nippy through towns where I will be the majority of the time. So I'm braced for the asses out there who want to piss on my dreams... But i'd like to thank you for not being an ass
Went from Kendal > Blackpool > Manchester > Blackpool on one tank of petrol (£11 ish)!! |

It's nice, but you're naive if you think having a small 125 will make you less likely to end up in an accident than a 600.
Experience counts more than anything and most of the time a blind car/van/lorry/bus driver is at fault anyway.
Good idea doing the extra training afterwards though, just take it easy and understand the risks come with motorcycling as a whole and not engine size ____________________ CG 125 > Bandit 600 > CBR 600 FY > Street Triple R |

Good news for Jimboo! Would be good news for me too if I wasn't old enough to be having my first mid life crisis and doing the whole thing of doing things I haven't done before. Like riding motorbikes. Bugger. |

Might still be worth doing m0l0t0v. The guys I know are/were really into their bikes. All 35+ age wise, and all of them said it was the best £30 they spent in relation to motorbikes. |
