Following on from my previous thread:

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=198297

I went over a few metres over a red light controlled junction today, the junction is covered by a speedcurb digital speed/red light camera.

I went across the junction in a right hand only lane, there were green arrows pointing left and straight on but a red light for those turning right (i.e. me) - I was momentarily too retarded to realise I was going right and therefore the two arrows didn't apply to me, I waited in the spot in the paint pic for about 5 secs whilst my lights changed.

Basically it comes down to can the camera differentiate between the four lanes well enough to realise that I ran the red light in my lane whilst anyone else passing in the middle of the junction had green lights??

I'm hoping/expecting that they can't but does anyone know for certain? First time I have encountered one of these cams, the only thing that suggests they are red light cameras is that they seem to be across junctions.

Mandatory paint pic attached Thumbs Up .

Looks almost identical to what i did but i was slightly further into the junction when it went red, my mate said he got done for going on amber Confused on the same junction.
Might just be coincidence aswell but is that the big set of lights in vicars cross chester?

It seems a bit too complex for one camera to consider the 4 lanes indivually, surely tall vehicles would read as if they were in other lanes? It also doesnt seem worth the extra expense of setting up/buying more complex cameras capable of differentiating between my lane and the adjacent lanes considering the right hand only lane only serves the BK and a tiny industrial estate...

Think I'm just gonna have to wait it out and see if I get a ticket, are we talking 3 points and £60??

HAHA it took a while, the cars and bikes I had already made for another thread on filtering a while ago; I added the F40 and the bikes in for dramatic affect although there was a yellow hornet shortly before I fudged up.

Yep my mate got 3 points and £60 fine, if it makes you feel better he got his notice within 2 days. So you might be able to relax a little inin 2 days time lol. If i did "run" the red (although it was amber when i crossed the line) then i should find out this week i think Sad .
3 points on my licence just after i pass my test isn't going to be good though Crying or Very sad but tbf i've done well if i do lol (in my mind anyway) 2 years on a provisional and 50cc bike that was derestricted and i'll admit i drove like a twat, rode around with popped tail light bulb for a month. My mates all got points in their first year when we all had peds. And don't worry i look after my bike and drive sensibly now, my licence means to much to me to loose it riding like a cunt.
P.s. junction looks almost identical lol and your v. good on paint

Woohoo I'm looking forward to that then; take it easy if you do get stung mate 6 points and you are out in your first 2 years Shocked Thumbs Up .

I just thought as well that they could have those sensors in the road, in which case I am def going to get done as setting it up for individual lanes would be pi$$ easy...

Nice diagram!
Is it just me? Or does this not remind you of those play carpet/rug things you had when you were a kid? Laughing

Sorry, you'll have to provide a better diagram. These little scribble crayon marks don't do it.

Yeah if i did get flashed (never noticed it flash and neither did my mate who pulled over on the other side of the junction) i will try and blag my way out of it, that moving for an emergency vehicle sounds feasable as long as they don't keep their routes and times lol.
And if i can't get out of it then i will be behaving for the next 2 years Laughing
