Only had this rear tyre since end of March.
Dunlop roadsmart so wasnt cheap, felt the back end squirming on the way to work Tuesday morning.
And found this at first tea break.......nail close to sidewall!

Been ringing round to get it hot vulcanised, thing is, the place who'll definately do it and do a good job, professionally, is in Surrey.
So it's a two hour drive, but very cheap to repair.
New tyre 115 delivered then tenner to fit.
Or about 12quid repair plus petrol to Surrey and back.

Spent the last two days researching.
What would most do? new tyre or repair it?
Way too much life in the tyre to write it off.

if you can find somewhere in the Midlands to repair it.

You tried The kawasaki place in finedon? Not sure if they do the hot vulcanising thing.. but they've plugged a few of my tyres, worth a ring.

just take it to your local bike shop, if it can be done, they will do it. ... there is no special equipment required to do it.

if you decide not to fix it i will buy it off you . im a dab hand at fixing tubeless punctures these days, get one nearly every time i go out so always carry the kit about with me, do trackdays on some of them and not had one fail yet *touch wood*

aye, cant be plugged as its not within the middle 50% of the tyre, i.e, too close to the side wall.

The bloke seemed to know whether or not to repair it that close to sidewall, the company looks reputable.

Most places just try and sell you a new tyre.
That close to the sidewall can be repaired (hot vulcanisation). Some places even repair sidewalls.
Havent tried Anchor as that'll be just a plug and not what i want.
I would plug it if it was more in the centre.

Not repaired or replaced yet, bike being off the road is doing my head in!
At least a week or two before i get it sorted.
If i hadnt of decided to buy a new helmet the night before i noticed the nail,
i might be able to afford to get it repaired or replaced.
Haha! new helmet's gonna turn up without a bike to ride.
