If you want to use a screwdriver in this fashion then get one that has metal running all the way through to the top and is designed to be hit with a hammer......
Not one with a plastic handle.
You might be lucky and get them to replace it, but if they say no, you might as well just go and buy another.
Pretty sure correct use for a screwdriver does not include use as a bearing extractor ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

My punch-driver is a big old Franklin one with the metal shaft all the way through, very useful
With Halfords tools I have never needed the receipt, but the only Halfords tool i have ever broken is the 24" cracker bar, I'm on my 4th |

I used to work for Halfrauds, and my advice is do not be honest about it's misuse. Tell them you were monkeying on a dirty great bit screw with both hands and it went ping, and a bit of metal nearly had your eye out. If they notice any marks on the end you hold from where you've been whacking it, tell them you might have dropped it on the floor.
If you're nice enough about it, the part will get replaced, and they'll send it back as a warranty job to the manufacturer. It's only about a quid's worth of tool anyway, they'd be silly to kick up a fuss...
But.... If you'd have got me, on a bad day, I'd have eagle eyed the marks and been straight on your case asking if you were using it as a chisel. If you'd coughed to it, I'd have told you to jog on. If you'd kept cool and stuck to the script, you'd be ok or I guess you'd be wanting to talk to my area manager..... |

Halfords are great went in last week to buy this but they had them marked at a third off to buy separately but when I said if I buy the cabinet you get the top draws free as on there website the young pretty blonde girl just said OK and did a over ride on the tills , paid £229 for both ____________________ Ducati Hypermotard |
