I'm exactly the same, 5 years on a bike and now have a car, thankfully ive kept the bike though.
The car is dull although i do find driving quick (as quick as can be expected in a 1.4 C2) quite fun.
The car is good for driving to all the BSB meetings though especially with its 75mpg ____________________ Past: '96 Thundercat, '02 ZX636R (A1P), '58 KTM 690 SM LC4 Current: '06 ZX636R (C6F)

I hate driving in the UK, constant stream off monkeys who can drive because they know where the throttle pedal is.
Only drive if i really really must, that usually means because the foam canon won't fit on the bike ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I can not drive and have been riding for 5 years. Funny how it is also time for me to take lessons soon.

Driving is great if you live out in the sticks. I can have as much fun in my R26 Megane as on a bike but with airbags!
As Jodie said, it's a 1.6 Focus, what did you expect? |

I've got a Divvy 900 which isn't exactly a speed demon but thought I'd never enjoy cars again... until that is we 'temporarily inheritted' a Mazda3 MPS. Geez I swear it's as fast as the Divvy - I'm never going to use it for commuting though!! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

I share a 1.1 106 with the GF and still have a bike but love have access to a car.
The way I see it is that all car are slow, hense why I got a really slow one. There is no point trying to go fast and slower cars are normally cheaper to run/insure.
I love being able to transport loads of stuff in it and being able to take people places! ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

I pity you, My gf has said she wants to buy a car, I whole heartedly support her in this but she refuses as she cant justify having 2 vehicles.
She has asked me if I would like to learn to drive a car as it would be much more practical to own a car instead of a bike and I said nope!
Its taken me until the tender age of 35 to pass my bike test (slacker and lack of money) and now I can ride a big bike she wants me to get rid of it to have a cage...... no fkin way! ____________________ illuminateTHEmind wrote: I am just more evolved than most of you guys... this allows me to pick of things quickly which would have normally taken the common man years to master

I passed my driving test on friday, I think it's so boring compared to a bike, but when it's raining and shit its fun
Also, when you get a decent car or just completely rag the shit out of it in some lanes it can spice things up
Me thinks my life will be .. Winter + food shopping(!) car, Summer bike ____________________ 07' Honda Hornet now full powaah! My guide on performing an oil change! |

Getting a decent or sporty car could help, but getting the same performance as a bike may be too costly.
I've only been riding a year, but I can see that my bike is more exciting than my car, and can out accelerate it without even breaking a sweat. (zx6r vs BMW e39 535). But getting out of my car into my wifes car feels similar, its less exciting, slower, handles worse. (BMW e39 535 vs audi A4). The week we had a Citroen C3 as a loan car was sheer automotive hell.
Its all relative. Getting out of a Focus into a better car may be the way forward. My old hobby was trying other peoples BMWs on a Saturday. Arrive at used car place, show interest (calling the previous day about a car works wonders), show insurance, swap keys have a lovely test drive, then move on to the next one. As long as you arrive not looking like a chav, are polite and look like a buyer, you can usually have a go in most things to compare and contrast models. |

I had just as much fun in my laguna as I did on my gt550. Mine only cost a couple of hundred quid, so I wasn't too bothered revving the shit out of it. Bouncing it off the limiter and making it slide around wherever possible made it quite a laugh, and because it wasn't an obvious boy racer car, I got some very funny looks.
Should have got the st170
I'm considering dropping that lump into my car, ripping off the pas and air con to unlock a few more ponies.
