Some are symmetrical, some aren't.
I'd probably be addressing why they are measurably different thicknesses in the first place. I'd start with the calliper on the "thin" one.
I suspect any slight increase in disc life you'd get by swapping them would be offset by having to buy two new sets of pads. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Under normal conditions your discs should wear evenly.
Sticky pots(or sticky sliding caliper) more than likely.
If your discs are semi floating or fully floated type then check that the buttons(bobbins) are free. Stuck buttons will create uneven wear, and can warp some discs (pulsing on the lever).
