Bike i own is in my Signature.
check the mixture is right....well i am not quite sure how to do it on a Piaggio engine.
The bike has a auto-choke, its at 2,000rpm then atter 30 secs the auto choke comes off and drops to 1,400rpm and then i get on a ride off.
So its fully warmed up, i was at snakes pass yesterday and it tempoary stoped shuddering and once off the snakes pass ( -10 ) and on to the dule carriagway it did 75mph with out struggling.
Spark plug gap checked and is fine and is in good condtion, not white not black but a nice dry light brown.
checked the belt, that looks heathy, and the oil is a nice clear with brown tint but feels weak, but dont see how that could effect top speed and shuddering.
As for Acemastr,

Carb icing usually causes problems when you stop after a long time with the throttle open, and the bike won't idle. So it doesn't sound like it'd be that anyway. ____________________

Check your mixture or balance.
If you run a twin (sorry not read whole thread) then this might help.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nKaGEMLZjs
All it is a piece of wood with a length of tube going to the carbs, filled with oil. Holding the wood level should give a level reading on the tube. Start the bike and then see which tube the oil goes up. The adjust as appropriate. ____________________ amnesia - Never in the history of usernames has one been more accurate. Warped indeed.
