What would you say, in your experience, is the most comfy sports bike?

Obviously it'll depend on the size and tubbyness of the rider, but just generally.

Both my ZZR600 and CBR600f have been much more comfortable than the bandit 650 I had as a courtesy bike, I'm sure the bandit in theory should be the most comfortable of the three.

Think it depends on the rider as much as the bike

Wouldn't really class any of them as out and out sports bikes though. Sports tourers really.

Indeed.

Oddly I found riding a (slightly lowered seat) CBR600FY I rode on the way less comfortable than the RS250 I was buying and rode back.
Possibly partly because the RS250 position lets me rest my elbows on my knees!

I don't mind my ZX9R with rear sets for commuting, nor my stock K6 GSXR 1000.

The RRW/X Fireblades aren't too bad. I have lower pegs, slightly higher bars and a gel seat and can ride the thing all day with minimal discomfort.

Was more pointing out that it is hard to say bike A is comfy and bike B is terrible than suggesting either of the two I mentioned.

I found my ZZR600's riding position comfortable but the seat was rubbish.

Inline with G's comments earlier, my SP1 felt more comfy than my ZX9 tbh, I suspect that's mostly down to me being a bit of a beanpole though.

The Futura was easily the most comfortable vehicle I've ever been in though, 300mile stints were absolutely no issue on the thing. Bit on the touring side but at the end of the day it was really an RSV Millie with a big seat and screen Laughing

It's not at all sporty, but the little XJR is a bit of a sofa too, very upright and a huge soft seat Thumbs Up

Yamaha Thundercat - it's official. MCN ran an article a couple of weeks ago that rated the Thundercat the most comfortable sportbike. I can corroborate that.

If my CBR isn't a sportsbike then the 'cat can't be either! No fair! Laughing

The RRW 'blade is very comfortable, though the tank is very fat which can be a pain.

In terms of something more modern, the VFR1200 is extremely comfortable. Yes it's big and ugly, and most wouldn't call it a 'proper' sportsbike. But it's superbike quick and considerably more nimble than a 'busa/ZX-12r.

They were (at least in the case of the ZZR) when they came out. The only reason they have been 'relegated' is because more cutting edge machines have been made since.

The comfyness is more down to the type of riding. Sportsbikes are designed for fast riding, where wind blast means there is not much weight on your wrists. Same position around town, is gonna mean weight on your wrists.

The Daytona 600 I had was nice and comfy, not a large amount of padding on the seat mind.. but wasnt painful to ride at all, in fact I found it nicer than the GS500 seating wise.

Its not super comfy, but I didnt get a numb arse or any form of cramp/pains at all when riding the GSXR from Reading to Maidstone (~95 miles)

OT.. Think Askmid has your bike as K5 G...?

Don't think askmid tells you?
If you do the tax checker, it says year of manufacture is 2006. Not that it really matters as there was no changes (maybe some paint colours?) between the models Smile.

Depends how tall you are. The taller you are the less comfy a sports bike is to "fold" yourself onto. Being a short arsed 5ft5 I found my gsxr comfy once I got used to the riding position.
