New Radiator? Updated Pic

So my radiator burst about 3 months ago and I fixed it with Rad Weld. I haven't used my bike much since but I don't want to be out a long run somewhere and it springs a leak again! So I was thinking of getting a second hand one to replace it with. There are a few on ebay:

Its an impossible question to answer.

Have you tried asking how much a repair would cost? I have no idea but it can't hurt to ask.

Ive used a product called CeLite a few timess on other peoples cars for leaky radiators, it looks like a small packet of metal filings, they are supposed to find the leak and plug it perminantly without turning the water brown and coating all you internals with crap that will eventually harden and break loose running the risk of blocking the cooling system. It was a while back the last timre i used it, it was about 80p i think, no one ever said it leaked after that, might be worth a try, most car shops have it.

I wouldn't be keen on buying a used one, you'd be better getting your own properly repaired depending on the nature of the problem.
In all fairness to anyone selling a used rad it's hard to know if they are entirely sound anyway.

You could try taking your rad to a radiator re-con place. You should have at least one local to yourself

They can usually recon any rad at surprisingly low prices, and in some cases the recon is of better quality than the factory part

Thanks guys. It's held up so far with the Rad Weld, but I don't want to be out one day and it starts leaking again....

I'll phone around a few places and see if they can give me an estimated price.

If you buy one off eBay, get the seller to state that it doesn't leak. At least you shoud be able to get a refund then if it does. Personaly, I probably wouldn't buy off someone that lays any painted or polished item down on concrete to photograph it
